Gemei A380
« on: May 19, 2011, 03:42:08 am »
This is in the rumour mill as there isn't enough information or evidence to validate the existence or features of the GA380.

Dingoonity user Samir posted this link recently:

Page 1: http://www.it.com.cn/audio/mp4/news/2010/03/10/09/757299.html

Page 2: http://www.it.com.cn/audio/mp4/news/2010/03/10/09/757299_1.html

You will need to translate the page.

Points of interest:

Looks pretty slick, nice design and it has an analogue pad.

Suggestions that the device can play PlayStation 1 games and wait for it... N64 games.

Suggestions of a Wi-Fi connection with internet access being possible.

True HDMI support/output.

CPU speed is listed at 500GHz which obviously is a typo, guessing they mean 500MHz with the ability to overclock to 600MHz.

The article is dated from last year and I wouldn't take anything in it seriously. I fail to see how a device with a 500MHz CPU can effectively emulate the N64. Still, fun to talk about and dream.

They sell it here: http://item.taobao.com/item.htm?id=9407370364

It's not actually available yet according to that site, they list it as coming soon (as of 2010).

Wow, according to this link, it has a 500GHZ or 600GHZ processor  :o

Should be able to emulate a PS3/XB360 easily  ;D

Yes, I do. It was hilarious!

I would love a handheld that could emulate 64 full speed. I hope this is real and affordable.

Well the CPU clock does not seem to be much better than the A320 Dingoo.
I do not know also the clock of smartphones android but reasonably emulate some of them
as in this video <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zb7UTzpH7zY" target="_blank">http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zb7UTzpH7zY</a>

The guy in that vid says the clock of his is 1GHz, but he was underclocked to 800 MHz. I would like to see this running without the underclock.

Also, when he says "it's much easier than on the computer." I have to assume he does not have a gamepad. Actual buttons win out over touch screen controls any day.

I always preferred buttons over touchscreen.

BTW, anyone tried pressing SELECT+UP on PSX4ALL? It appears "PSX CLOCK 100%" and increases... Ideas?
Obs: You cant decrease it tough.

http://gemeitech.com/Products.asp?Proname=X760%20%20%CA%B1%C9%D0%B0%E6
As you can see it is not the new a380 and howl, but a new version of the X760 + howl.
Booboo Until confirmed that ...

Well it seems that the settings were not right, it seems it uses a processor like the GA330

Guess we'll have to wait a little longer for the A380 ...
(With all these features and Android ...)
