"HK" a Defect...
« on: April 08, 2010, 03:06:20 am »
http://www.shoptemp.com

The site will be selling the Dingoo A320. I contacted the support, directly, and received the following response.

"Yes, we are selling the export version. I've received confirmation that the Dingoo HK model was a manufacturing defect, it?s just a product series that was faulty."

I have yet to get more information but from what I have gathered it appears the "HK" may have been a trial run of the Dingoo with cheaper hardware, designed to be sold at a cheaper price. But as we all know there were some issues with the new hardware.

They went on to tell me that problems with the defect have been fixed, to the best of their knowledge. This may explain posts by people who have the ?HK? build and who have not experienced any problems with the native firmware and 3rd party homebrew applications, games, and emulation.

This site has a great return policy and they promise to never sell a clone copy of a legitimate product. This might be one to book mark.

[edit]
some news has surfaced. it appears they are selling the "HK" vesion without knowing. check this post for more information: http://gbatemp.net/index.php?showtopic=221024.

There's so many excuses for this. It's either a defect, a product line for sale in China, or a ripoff. Now, which is it?

Please note , fake dingoo lacks a major decoder IC , so can not keep going to update  the  firmware.

omgzomg it will EXPLOTE?

To anyone wondering: It has been cleared up in another thread that this "official dingoo" poster is a scammer, they also hacked into the official Dingoo Digital site and changed it's contact information. These are counterfeiters trying to sell their own knock-off Dingoo. Guess some people can't stand success from their competitors, eh?

Worried if your HK Dingoo is a fake? It's not.
