New Letcool N350JP firmware 2.0
« on: August 06, 2010, 06:47:16 am »
The new v2.0 firmware for letcool n350jp is out, Buddies!
http://www.letcool.net/resources/support.shtml
follow the link above, and there you go!
haven't tried it yet, but according to my friend, LR button issues is fixed, so is the frozen when bring out menu bug.

here is how it works

After downloading, open it up, there suppose to be 4 files inside the folder called "ISP文件
and copy all 4 of them into the root of your TF card(micro sd card).
Then, set TF card as defult. (though configeration menu)
last step, update it.
after updating finished, push the reset button, and then push power button to turn you letcool on.
there you go, enjoy! :)

PS: Please be patient when updating and turning on!

L/R buttons seem to be fixed somewhat, so this update is great news :D

Keybinds in the GBA emulator are still weird though... X is L, and Y is R, L/R don't function (but they also don't function as volume either)

i cannot get this to work if anyone gets it to work can you please help me ???

Put the 4 files from the rar onto the root of your micro SD card:

  • 1.img
  • config.ini
  • Images_RedBoot_201000427.img
  • isp.ini

Switch to micro SD on the Letcool (Settings > memory > TF Card)

Go to System Information (Settings > System Information > TF Card)

follow the instructions to update

Stupid me should have backup my stuff before the upgrade.  LOL
Now, I need to test it....... :) :)

Caution: Please Backup your stuff before you decide to do the firmware upgrade.

I had to start my castlvania minute of dawn all over again...
by the way, I think this update had improved emulation performance dramatically.
genesis' audio is much better, gba not only improved speed, but also sound details.
snes seemed to be improved a bit. I tried super castlevania 4, It is easy an smooth.
However, compatibility isn't improved at all.

Hi, as I'm not an owner I couldn't test it but nevertheless... I made a dump of the "1.img" with sprdump and had a look at those files contained in the image. First in the OPEN folder there are the boot splash screens and not only for the Letcool but also (among others) for a "MiShark64".
Here is a video review: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=szHC8N20SXM
and the companies homepage: http://www.asian-games.com.tw/E/info/info_1.html (/ www.sanmos.com)
Also in the IMAGE folder there is another folder called AUDIO that I think isnt present in at least any other firmware Ive seen. It contains libraries for audio decoding (in ready to link to ELF format). FLASHKERNEL.BIN and KGBVIDEO... (whatever that is) in the IMAGE/GAME folder are also new I think.

MiShark64 looks like a rebranded Letcool -- nice find

that Mi shark thing seemed to be a letcool, but sold by another company?!

we all know that letcool is not manuafactured by gameware, so it is possible that
the company made letcool had decide to sell some of them to another company because of some reason.
Those Chinese companies are hard to understand. ???

I think it was $36 trade price based on you buying 1000 units (going off what he said in the video). So I assume it'll actually be available to buy at about twice that.

My favourite part of the video was when he said "So does the 64 in the name mean it plays Nintendo 64 games?" and the guy said "...erm... no". Shame he didn't then say "So does it mean anything or has the name just come out of some random chinese pmp name generator?"

All the emulators are running very smooth as you can see on the videos.  During these videos I had FW 2.0 on my letcool.  We will be rocking if we can get "Coolingux" (Linux)  on this device.   Let's hope for it....... :) :) :) :)

Thanks for the videos, they really give a good insight as to how the Letcool performs.

How would you rate the speakers compared to the A320's?

It looks decent enough, my only complaint is that it doesn't have arcade emulation. I'm holding out to see how the Gemei A330 turns out.
