there's a new firmware available on JXD website in case you own (like me) a nice V3 or JXD1000 : better emulation and finally better button mapping (even if triggers are vol +/- on GBA...) Anyway, all that to say JXD is updating firmware, at least once a year !!!
 :-\

Do you mean the firmware from 2010-6-8 ?

I have installed it on my JXD 1000.

The button mapping is unfortunately still quite stupid:

Sega MD (Genesis)

A = Circle
B = X
C = Select

Nintendo SNES

A = Circle
B = X
X = Select
Y = Square and Triangle
L = R
R = L

Nintendo NES

A = Circle
B = X

Nintendo GBA

A = Circle
B = X
R = Square
L = Select

Nintendo GBC

A = Circle
B = X

NES and GBC are ok (they have only 2 buttons anyway).

The button mapping for SMD, SMC and GBA is still beyond my imagination (especially mappings to Select and swapping L/R). :o Six button pad on SMD is not emulated.

Is it any better on the JXD V3 ?

no, there's a new firmware from july, named spk1410, that is significantly better; key mapping isn't perfect though on the V3 (no shoulder buttons as soooo many complain here) but the media part is improved for sure and videos are playing very well.

I like that device personaly but I must admit I don't use it to play games a lot; but it's good to see JXD puts some efforts to improve their nice little devices. the JXD200 seems pretty too...

About frmware, again, it's for the V3, and I have a jxd1000 as well and wouldn't try to put it on it even if it's "working"...

cool, how well does the JXD 1000 perform? I used to have a JXD301, it's sitting somewhere gathering dust :)

I don't have a JXD301, so I can't compare.

But anyway, I have the Dingoo, Wiz, Caanoo and some chinese PMPs including the JXD1000.

IMHO, only the Dingoo, Wiz and Caanoo are really worth the money.

Bump... Sorry I haven't been on in a while. The JXD1000 doesn't look bad, but no matter what I end up getting, I has to emulate GBA *or* SNES with reasonable speed and compatibility, along with a low price, like one of those PSP shaped ones.

why are you so obsessed with jxd products? their software and build quality is CRAP. get a dingoo, it emulates everything you want almost flawlessly. support from the community is amazing and they're built well.

or wait for the gemei a330.

I honestly would like the gemei x760+, if it has shoulder buttons. Dingoo seems pretty cool, but I kinda expanded my list of stuff i could get.

a dingoo essentially IS an x760+ with shoulder buttons.

But price is the main thing here, for me... I'm really looking for a GP2X F200 or a VocaMaster.

you're looking for something new every day, it seems you have no idea what you want or why you even want it. how can you say that "price is the main thing" when a second hand f200 off ebay costs more than a dingoo?

honestly, i'm beginning to wonder if you're some kind of elaborate troll. or perhaps you're RedBaron from the GP2X forums.....

Okay what I'm really looking for is an inexpensive device that allows GBA, and perhaps SNES+MD/GEN emulation. I am not a troll, and I actually never figured out what a troll is... So there. I ant got much cash, so the cheaper as compared to build quality and functionability, the better.

Then a Dingoo A320 (with Dingux installed) is exactly what you want. Well, you also need a miniSD card (or a microSD card with a miniSD adapter) to install Dingux. But you can get a 4GB one for like $~10 on ebay I think.

You said your brothers said it sucked? :o Is this also why your dad won't let you have it?

The best value for money is definitively the Dingoo. Trust me, I have a lot of hardware.

Wow, I guess now I'd actually have some reviews/content to prove that the Dingoo might be worth it. Turns Purim allowed to get one, just unfortunately I'd have to fund it entirely on my own. IDk where I'll get $100,but who knows... The most important reason my dad doesn't want me to get one is because it's been known to have an not so good build
Quality, and Im prone to breaking stuff soon after get it, so I need something durable, too.

Well, it's true that the build quality isn't up to par with big names like Apple, Microsoft, Sony and Nintendo.

The thing is, compared to all the other cheap PMPs you've shown interest in; the A320 beats them hands down. I believe that's the consensus, anyway. Even if some other cheap PMP had better build quality, they still don't have the great homebrew community that the A320 has.

Even if you end up getting a dud A320, just send it back for a new one. I'm sure http://www.dingoo-digital-usa.com/ will be happy to see you get a good working A320. He's seems like a good, sincere guy.

Your best other option would be to wait to see how the new Gemei A330 turns out.

Or you could go for the GPH Wiz/Caanoo. But that's like, twice the price. Not really cheap.

Or you could go for the supposed king, the Pandora. But that's OUT OF THE QUESTION, price wise.

If i can get a Dingoo for around $70 or less, I'd be good. So will dingoo-digital-usa replace/repair it if I happen to break it on my own, while it's under warranty? However, if anyone has a cheap, used or new Dingoo (color doesn't matter, preferably black), I'd like to buy it. Not really looking at the A330, though. No way I could ever touch a Pandora, maybe I could get close to a Wiz.

for the sake of an extra $10 just get it from DX.
or you could certainly pick up a second hand one off ebay for less than $70.
