extracting ps1 emulator from a jxd handheld?
« on: January 15, 2013, 10:53:37 am »
there are many chinese ripoffs of the jxd handhelds (which are ripoffs of the psp themselves lol).
some support ps1 emulation while others don't.
thing is though, they have the completely same OS and everything.
so shouldnt it be possible to extract the ps1 emulator from one and install it on another one?

Probaby, i don't know why you'd bother though. The stock emulators on jxd devices are garbage. You could probably just use AirDroid, and click the app you want and make an .apk of it, or if you're rooted use titanium, but again, why bother? Just install epsxe or something man.

Also, same OS isn't same specs, the knockoffs might not support psx for a reason haha

All these devices don't have the same specs. If you have posted under the spmp8000 devices i suppose you have one of them, but the ones that have a ps1 emulator have an Actions soc (mips architecture). As i am far from being an expert in these issues, uli explains it better here.

Devices with PS1 emulator are Actions Semicondictor SOC, not compatible with SPMP devices.

Even betwen Actions Semicondictor devices is not possible share emulators.

thats not true , maybe the spmp8000 got old pretty fast but i am sure a lot of people own these devices , the psp knockoff was pretty popular specially jxd 1000 and other varients , only thing is probably 90% of them dont even know they can customize the device.

to the question, its probably possible but we are dependent on the cool moders to do it. not sure if the older spmp can handle ps1 emulation with their cpu speeds
