Battery upgrade
« on: September 01, 2010, 10:41:08 pm »
With the latest firmware upgrades I've been playing more games on this little device, and I thought it'd be nice to have more playtime between charges.

So, the Letcool uses a standard Nokia BL-5B battery, which is kinda handy because they're so easy to purchase and swap out. The stock battery is 800 mAh in terms of capacity, I've found a 1000 mAh battery online so I went ahead and purchased that. Let you know how it goes!

the thing is, knock off batteries don't tell the truth about capacity. when you check batteries on dealextreme for a long time you realise that the chinese like to lie.

having said that, japod are know for making decent batteries and not lying about their specs. they do a 1000mah version which you can get for $6.90 from dx.

Yes, chinese manufacturers do often lie about battery capacities, that's why I went for the japod BL-5B (same as dx one). It's got plenty of good reviews, hopefully it gives me a bit more juice than the generic batt that comes with the Letcool.
