Title: Rs90 OpenDingux FileZilla help
Post by: giggiobaffo on October 29, 2020, 10:16:58 pm
I recently bought the RS90 retromini and I discovered this wonderful board. I want to thank anybody working on this amazing scene. But I'm having quite a few issues in understanding how the FTP connection between the console and filezilla works. I use Windows 10 and I'm not very experienced using Linux. Is there anybody capable of lending me a hand? My RS90 is a v2.1 with OpenDingux nightly from October 4th. Thank you in advance. :3

Using Filezilla to add or remove roms was required just before latest updates, when there wasn't a USB Mode. Why exactly are you wanting to use Filezilla? For a while, it seems there is really a problem with transfering files with Windows, though (following other posts). Is that the main trouble?

Hello all the versions after 20-10-04 have problems with the data transfer in windows, also I have a v 2.1 domain like you and all the night versions don't work I send the system to crash restarting indefinitely. I recommend you to install the version 01/20/06

muki, I'm actually using the october build and it's fine for what it does, it bugs me that usb transfer is a pain but I can use the former installed kernel for that... I just want to add some wallpapers in gmenu2x but there's no access to the folders, I think that ftp might help.

Edit: FileZilla isn't connecting even inside Linux...

Using Commander will give you access to gmenu2x folder:

I do have access to the folder with commander, yet it doesn't allow me to copy anything to the wallpapers folder.

Ok it reloads the previous firmware, but it doesn't do much in terms of commander, I mean, I still can't copy the files to the right directory as if it doesn't have any kind of permission. I might be able to point the conf file to the wallpaper I want to use, but it isn't as effective nor any easy to do.
