The PS1 emulator starts the game, then the console freezes.  :(

For clarification the PSX emulator is hit and miss by comparison. I would assume this is from the Swap ram being dropped from 32 to 20. Games load up slower than before, and some do not work that did before. Trial and error seems to be the only way to know which games will work and which won't.

SD seems to be Read-Only. Can't create, delete, or change files over USB (MTP) or with the Commander opk. Trying to fiddle with FTP to see if it's the same problem there.

1) doom not start  :(
2) SD seems to be Read-Only. Can't create, delete, or change files over USB or with the Commander opk. - yes, confirm
3) in USB Ethernet mode, the system does not find drivers, the old ones do not fit

Are you using Ethernet with Windows or Linux? I'm having trouble connecting over Linux, which is a new problem. MTP works great, though, except for the SD card being read-only.

Windows 7. MTP the mode works perfectly, you can write files to the card. But in the system itself, the commander cannot write/ erase files from the card. Linux rights issue

Right, I didn't notice that issue with the SD being read-only. I'll make a bugfix release soon.

Ethernet does work fine for me under Linux, what distribution and kernel version are you using?

I guess it wasn't clear to me before. You need to run the "Swap" App before running PSX. Seems to keep the games from freezing.

Any chance of 32mb ram swap so more psx games can work some work some wont all will work with 32mb 20mb is not enough for psx emulation.

This is zram swap, so it's basically the RAM being compressed on-the-fly when the resource is low. It's much faster than swapping to disk, but you cannot have as much as you want.

The current firmware already allows you to swap to disk and to select how much swap you want.
Put this file in Media/data/local/etc and edit SWAP_FILE_SIZE_MB to select the amount of swap you want.

Note that I highly advise against using non-zram swap. It will slowly but surely trash your NAND and eventually make your RetroMini unusable. So instead of relying on hacks like that to get the PSX emu to work, just fix the f*** PSX emu already.

For anyone who's curious. I did test the swap change at 32 MB. It does help some apps, and PSX games run that did not before, but freezes and crashes are pretty frequent. I don't specifically recommend it, even if you were willing to ignore the long term damage to your Nand.

Thanks for the feedback. Psx Games with the previous firmware went very slow but without crashes, weird though.
