Never knew the A320 got half decent PS1 emulation, I think I sold mine as spares repairs well before that. Will try pcsx on the K3P tonight.

Btw the flexible glass screen protector arrived today, it's 65mm x 46mm so should fit the RS-97 perfectly. WIll fit it tonight when I get in.
Is that the one from Germany? If it firs well I'm getting lol so need it...

I flashed the 4gb image file to a 32gb card but only showing as 4gb card everything works fine just cant reclaim the full 32gb.

If anyone know how to fix this would be much appreciated hope i can get that space back.

I've compiled it but just got black screen when running it. Maybe is waiting for rom parameter through dmenu, really dont know, I have not my dingoo or gcw zero here to test if default compilation is running ok.

I'm seeing replacement BL-5B batteries that are claiming 1390 mAh.  Does anybody know if that's legit?  If I bought one of these systems, I'd almost definitely be interested in upgrading the battery to one of these if they're on the level.

Sweet.  Thanks man.

On another note, is there a good place to get an overview of Dingux?  I have experience rooting/flashing Android devices, but I've never owned a Dingoo so I'm not sure of all the terminology.  I see some people referring to just a "dmenu" as if that's a separate program from the OS.   I did a bit of digging in the Dingoo-related forums but I'm still not too clear on everything.

Unfortunately the wiki is down at the moment, hopefully it will be back up shortly.

Well I'm not all that knowledgeable but here's my take on things - Dingux is basically just a Linux OS for the Dingoo and other similar devices, back in the day it enabled people to have a pretty open low powered handheld and it expanded the software base of the A320.

Dmenu (and gmenu2x) are simple window managers which act as a GUI so you can navigate the OS with the available controls instead of using the command line, pretty much like the menu system on a PSP or 3DS. In the same way Lubuntu uses XFCE as it's desktop environment, Puppy will use JWM, Windows will use Explorer and Dingux uses dmenu or gmenu2x.

The dmenu hack on the K3P for example is a different dmenu over the existing Dingux compatible OS which allows the user to easily add new entries as well as coming with preloaded emulators etc.

I finally got my RS-97 from Amazon and had some time to test it. Sadly I'm not very impressed :'(

While the case itself is well made, the buttons are waaay to wobbly. I really don't know if I have a different device that you all. The shoulder buttons feel like they fall off any time   ???

And then the screen. As mentioned here, it has a 320x480 resolution. But wait, hasn't the the screen a 4:3 aspect ratio? It has! That means the screen is vertically shrunk and that's why the menu looks so off.

This is fixable: Everything has to be rendered at 320x240 (to retain correct AR), then before sending it to the screen, every line has to be doubled. Problem is that this has either be implemented in the display driver or in every app itself. No dingux software will work out of the box by just adjusting the resolution  :(

I managed to swap out the 4gb card with a 32gb card on my RS-97 i have made a quick guide below if anyone else want?s to try it as well.

(REPLACE 4GB CARD WITH HIGHER CAPACITY CARD)

Step 1 Download the firmware here https://mega.nz/#!JIBVDaDa!K1IrPbrjHrdiXQOX9w2b-EAB9n7GHFeQkE084R-cBiQ

Step 2 burn the image file to your new micro sd card using this https://sourceforge.net/projects/win32diskimager/

Step 3 Expand the Fat32 file system using this https://www.disk-partition.com/free-partition-manager.html

Step 4 Open your RS-97 carefully and remove the micro sd card then insert the one you just created and close back up.

Step 5 It should boot and use the full storage available on the fat32 file system as you can see in the pics below enjoy ;)
