PS. The screen on the plus is as awful as everyone says....real shame because they did so much right.

You can't just swap the screen using the existing connector. You must solder all the components which are missing on the circuit board of the rs-97 plus. That includes resistors, capacitors, a 51-pin connector for the "new" screen, and some more components.

If you haven't already purchased one, then yeah. Avoid.

At least until the next version of it is out. Word is they're going back to the same screen as the 3.0 board. Which I assume means we?re back to 480 lines. Which I'm totally okay with now that we have IPU support.

There's a reason why people don't buy it and it's because the screen has terrible tearing and is unable to go over 30 FPS
due to how it is interfaced.
As a result, Tony boycotted it (even though he could support, he's just wants to force them to release a decent device) and the CFW does not support it.
We could put something together using the stock kernel but it won't have triple buffering and all, not to mention no USB.
So yeah, it is not worth the 50$ believe me.

That white RS-97 is fine though but there's no guarantee they will give you this one and not the RS-97 Plus.

Ordered the white one, got a v 3.0 RS-97 white.

All seems good, games are in English, time to get flashing!

Yes it has a CFW, jutley released a prelimineary image of it together with some build (including PCSX4ALL) i've sent to him.
But you won't get USB working, you won't have triple buffering & vsync (hardware issues) and so on...
Hence why effort to improve on it has been given up.

It's not RetroFW, it's based upon the older Useless firmware. Tony has refused to support the Plus LCD screen.

Ok. Then usb works for me on cfw port from arcade mini. Gmenu myself compile from last available sources.

If the specifications on the product page are accurate they used a similar screen to the RS-97 non-plus (a 480p screen). If so, would this mean this device could potentially support RetroFW?

Hi, I recently got Retro Game Plus and i think that screen isn't that bad or maybe I got a device with newer screen? I only noticed tearing on NES emulator, Arcade emulators or SNES one have good visuals. Should I flash current CFW to it?
