SWOS (Sensible World of Soccer) best handheld experience??
« on: March 01, 2013, 03:35:34 pm »
Yo, Im on a mission to nail down the best handheld experience of playing SWOS 96/97 using UAE (Amiga) - does anyone else on here play it? The best setup so far for compatability and playability is using a Sony Xperia Play with UAE - slight frameskip, tricky with a D-Pad but its the closest so far.

Anyone recommend other devices they play this on?

Cheers, Steve 8)

Sensible World of Soccer is one of my favourite games ever. When I considered buying a handheld some months ago, this game was the first to come to my mind. It's perfect for a handheld. I don't think however, that the PC version, which is the one I played (and still play) can be perfectly emulated. It's easier to expect great results with the Genesis/Megadrive version, for instance.

SWOS wasn't released for Sega consoles
SWOS is the sequel to Sensible Soccer and as well as improved features it also contains the management mode. Only choice you have is Amiga or PC (Possibly ST not sure though)

UAE4All 2.0 is the best emulator choice. With my JXD s5800 (and my old s5110b before it broke) I can get full speed with no frameskip using this emulator.
It's a good idea to check places like Aminet for the most up to date team rosters too.
