Depends on what you mean by overlooked, for example I feel that Commodore Amiga as a platform is really overlooked in some parts of the world (US, namely). SNES and NES (and maybe Megadrive/Genesis) are all people usually talk about.
So yeah, I recommend wholehearteadly checking out the Amiga gaming library. Turrican 1 & 2 are my favourite games ever, and I did not even own an Amiga!

Gothic 1 and 2 ...Gothic 3 was overshadowed by Morrowind and even though I love Morrowind ...Gothic 2 is just as good
