Genesis/Megadrive Everdrive cartrige
« on: July 08, 2011, 11:38:28 am »
Hello everybody.

I'm collecting some Genesis/Megadrive games for my son.
During my searches I've found Everdrive.

Since it is really expensive I would like to know if there's anyone here that have one and if I really should think in buy one.
I've seen some reviews but they say all the same... the "you must by this!" speech isn't enough for me.

Thanks in advance!

Ive been watching some reviews also, seems great if you want to play all the Gen/Mastersystem games on real hardware, even plays 32x! if you happen to own that aswell

Seems like a good buy

I don't think it's expensive, considering what it allows you to do and how much money you will save.

I don't see what you need convincing about? It's a device that allows you to play roms in your Mega Drive, do you want to do that or not? If yes, buy it. If no, don't buy it and buy games off eBay for absurd prices.

I would like to know if it does savestate like dingoo in all games and not only the ones like sonic 3... all reviews i've seen show the same games. I think it does but I can't read that in the reviews. Other thing I'd like to know is about regions. I have an european Megadrive (first model), can I play roms U or J?

When I said expensive is compared to the prices I'm getting my games.
I'm buying like 7 games for about 15 euro.
In my opinion Everdrive still a great product to retrogamers since it makes possible playing games in original hardware... better than in some clone consoles.

Thanks in advance.

One year ago I started this and now here I am again.

I bought the Everdrive and I like it.
However it doesn't save states and I'm looking forward to buy the Mega Everdrive, a new model that save states.

So after 20 years keeping my games I will sell them now.
I have 32 megadrive (PAL games) to sell at good prices. If anyone interested just send me PM.

Cheers!

If you do not mind me asking, How old is your son.... If he is between the ages of 4 - 11 I would get an xbox 1 and install CoinOPS 4 (or wait till November for CoinOPS 5) That plays the games very well considering and also has all the other systems too... Kids love to bust through the games and they previews etc

If he is older that 11 then get him the everdrive... I want the everdrive 64 to play Perfect Dark: Goldeneye Edition and some other favs :)

I can help if required :)
