Dreamcast VGA Box
« on: December 20, 2010, 01:12:43 am »
Hi guys, last friday my VGA box for my Dreamcast arrived and Holy Potatoes Batman!!!!  This has made the Dreamcast my ultimate Console once again.  I went to try my most colourful and fastest game to see what it would look like on my 50" plasma...  So I went for Daytona...  And all I can say is that it blew me away!  A console that never did any good ( I think 3 people in Australia own one..lol) now runnning at 480p @ 60Hz  can to this day still prove to be one of the greated consoles ever created.

The only down side is that the 2-D games such as SF: 3rd Strike & Marvel Vs Capcpom 2 are heavily pixelated, but switching the box over to S-video helped with that (still a lot better than using the original composite cable)

Anyway, my point in this topic is... If you have a Dreamcast and a HD TV, invest in a VGA Box and you won't be dissapointed.
So far....
NES, Master System, Lynx, Mega Drive, Mega CD, SNES, 3DO, Playstation, Saturn, N64, PS2, Dreamcast, XBOX, X360, PS3, Wii.....  And best of all... A320.

runnning at 480p @ 60H

So the VGA box converts the 50Hz PAL signal that an Australian Dreamcast natively outputs?

sorry ,i should have made it a little clearer... you know how some games give you the option of running a game at 50hz or 60hz.... that was what i was referring to... not the actual box upconverting the signal.
