Best (or not) TBS Retro Games you can emulate
« on: November 16, 2014, 09:12:23 pm »
Hello everyone.

Maybe this is silly topic, but I really like turn based strategy games. I like the process of thinking and searching for the best solution of a problem. I always say, that TBS is how chess evolved.

So I'm looking for good console games I can play on my GCW. Here is my list, please feel free to add anything you like =)

Advance wars 1,2 (GBA)
Fire Emblem + Sacred Stones (GBA)

It's not much, I know =( That's why I need your help!

Check out Desert Commander on NES if you want to see how Advance Wars would look in 8 bit  ;D

I also highly recommend Shining Force 1 & 2 on Genesis. They're not exactly the same as what you find in Advance Wars, people call them "Strategy RPGs", but I enjoyed Advance Wars and I consider Shining Force to be very similar. Check it out, I don't think you'll be disappointed. I've wanted to make a video about it for a while.

I also hear that Final Fantasy Tactics on GBA is good, but haven't had the time to check it out.

If you can find English Roms of the game: romance of the three kingdoms, especially the waixing famicom version (the one game waixing backported correctly) it's really fun. RTK 3 for snes is a really fun game too. I believe there is also a gba version, but I think it was just published in Japanese. :)
