This looks better, but it didn't increase the machine's processing capabilities, unfortunately.  I will wait for the GKD350h Aluminum version.

For having both the original RG350 and the GKD350H, the latter may show higher FPS on some games, but in general it looks choppy even at 60fps, while on the RG350 it's butter-smooth (Note: that's with the default firmware on both).

And adding support for a 640x480 will probably not be a trivial task and I don't see any need for it except for PsOne which won't be able to handle it with the Jz4770 anyway.

gkd350h choppy for what games in particular? Users say that CPS3 runs at full frame rate.

The store sent me back a message saying no wifi, so you would have to use the same method as we use for RG350 to add wifi.

Choppy a bit everywhere - it's not that the emulators don't reach 60fps, it's that even at 60fps you see frames being dropped. It is particularly noticeable with games with scrolling. I saw that with GBA, SNES and megadrive emulation.

it's also listed here :
https://retromimi.com/products/rg350-upgrade-rg350m-aluminum-alloy-shell?_pos=1&_sid=146303a06&_ss=r

This is going to be tough to sell at 170$ because some stores are selling the Switch Lite for the same price.
Even if there was a plastic version at 100$, i don't think it would sell that well given the fact that the soc is the same and the only real change is a higher screen resolution & different layout for analog sticks.

Yup i concur but it seems to not be noticeable on some emulators but after fiddling with the SDL flags and all, i can't quite figure out what really causes the issue so most likely a kernel issue. But you know, there are people that absolutely loved the PocketGo despite the 40hz refresh rate issue and in my opinion the GKD350H blows that out of the water...

That being said it's not the only issue with the GKD350H and unless you want faster SNES & GBA emulation (my VBA Next port runs at 60 FPS on the GKD350H and can run NES Classic games),  you most likely want to stick with the RG-350. (the standard one)

They missed the opportunity to go for a bigger screen and faster processor.

Now the same old CPU is trying to push 4 times the screen resolution, I don't think the games will run as fast as the original RG350, let alone expecting better performance. And with a higher price point.

It is definitely a downgrade.

Edit: And still no HDMI output?

...
+1 to that.
Slightly bigger screen for a res of 640x480 and yeah,up the CPU a little too for that.
Would have been good.

I'm not saying having a faster processor wouldn't have been nicer but this is wrong.
The reason why is because 320x240 apps (and lower) will be upscaled to 640x480 via the IPU, not in software so there will be no performance drop.
For stuff like the SNES, Wonderswan and GBA, this can result in better scaling since scaling up looks better if the screen resolution is higher. (You can try it yourself on GIMP and use bilinear filtering to get yourself an idea)
However if an RG-350M improved app or emulator wants to target 640x480 as to take advantage of the screen resolution : yes there can be a performance drop in this case.

Heck, even a slight overclock of the CPU could help but it  doesn't seem like it's something that can be done on the JZ4770.

For me id be happy with the Dpad on the top low profile sticks on the bottom, wifi, bluetooth, dual sdcard slots, the power button moved so i dont keep accidentally hiting it, 3.5mm jack on the bottom maybe all ports on the bottom.
Not sure what else id change.but im pretty happy with the system though.

That entire video is hilarious.  Sounds like a Russian girl reading some really bad Chinese-to-English translation.
They should have just shipped some of these to some YouTube reviewers.
Nice shell and I like the new control layout however from having been burned by getting a dud screen on my first RG350, then yanked around for a month while they shipped me a dud micro-SD card until they finally sent a replacement RG350 I'm kind of burned out on anything Chinesium from these folks.  Cold solder joints everywhere.
I want to see a video where someone tears this apart and does a close-up on the mainboard to see if they have actually decided to do any type of QA/QC on these things at all or is just another Chinesium handheld drop-shipped directly from a garage factory in China.

i could be interested if it can run fullspeed Fceux and gambatte in retroarch at 640x480 ? Do you think it will be possible to run both emulators at fullspeed in 640x480 ?
( by the way if you are interested i just made a long topic to compare my rg350 and my powkiddy q80 ( pocketgo 2 clone) in Ingenic JZ47xx Devices section.)

They're lying.  It's never going to work.  It hasn't worked for over 7 years now.
