Also, is there a way to keep the left analog stick deactivated after a reboot (by tweaking a config file maybe?) without having to disable it each time? I mean we can keep it deactivated in GMenu2X with a setting but not through other apps, we have to press the combo key at each reboot.

That is normal, because not all emulators has stick mapped, so you use the swaper dpad-stick, is nornal that this return to normal mode when you reboot the console.

@Ninoh-FOX Last Rogue FW 1.7.10u2 for RG350 is in fact for RG350M, resolution is 4 times higher so we only see 1/4 of the screen (everything is zoomed 4 times).

I extracted "sd_image.bin" from "rg350-flasher-1.7.10u2-2021-01-10.opk" here:
https://github.com/Ninoh-FOX/RG350-ROGUE-CFW/releases/tag/1.7.10u2

Also, that would be REALLY nice if you could bring back the possibility to turn off screen brightness when setting it at its minimum like with stock FW. That way we could save battery when listening to our favorite tunes in emulators for example. :)

I am disabled the 0 valor brightness because this not work fine when you turn on the screen again, go to 0% level to 100% level in one step.

Anyway, this not is good for RG350M screens.

I don't see the point of not proposing an option to keep it deactivated after a reboot. The user will still be able to activate it with the combo key. That's just that it will be deactivated by default on boot instead of being activated.

Really? How can it damage RG350M screen? Why can we turn off the screen in GMenu2X and turn it on again at will?

Anyway, thanks for the hard work on this amazing FW. :)

I chose this firmware because I believed in your work. And I thank you for all that you have done till now. I am just wondering.. will you continue pursuing the other goals of rogue firmware? Will you update it to the latest 3d drivers? will you add support for hdmi ? I want to believe..

I'm finding it very convenient to use the App Store to manage packages on my 350m and 280m. Will the official Retroarch releases be added to the repository?

Thanks so much for this firmware, OP! I just donated as a small token of gratitude.

The only question I have is: on my 350P, holding power and pressing the d pad up and down does not seem to adjust the sharpness at all. Am I doing something wrong?

Also I noticed that all my SNES games now run at 60 FPS! A lot of them used to only run at 53 FPS or so. Is this because your OS is more optimized? Or is it because some sort of overclock is running?

Is the overclock dangerous at all? I already had another RG-350P fail on me (the screen would go crazy and it would randomly reboot). I just wanted to make sure it's not going to overheat or something! :)

I am on 1.7.14 on my RG350.

I downloaded rg350-update-1.7.15-2021-08-14.opk and when I try to run it, it immediately closes.

What is going on? How do I update?

The update process went smoothly on my rg350m. I do have the 1.7.10 "flasher" program installed. I don't know if the flasher is required for updates, but that's a possible variable.

Has anyone else with a regular RG350 done this OTA update?

Edit: By the way, I'm so happy to see that this is still getting updates!

Here's the description of the update from NinohFox's github:

Quote
changes since the last release:

The volume control has been returned from the master channel since the crashing problem has been corrected when updating the alsa packages, allowing better control of the sound from alsamixer to level the pcm, headphones and master volumes separately.

Fixed a kernel configuration that did not allow to switch to rootfs backup by pressing X when starting the console.

The kernel has been patched with the latest generic linux kernel 3.12.74 package.

DRM functions of superior kernels have been introduced in case in the future it is possible to update the ETNAVIV drivers in 3.12 (this would allow the graphics in Mario 64 port to be seen correctly).

Updated SDL1 to OD beta version

SDL2 has been updated from version 2.0.3 to version 2.0.12, thus allowing sound in applications that previously did not support it in the previous version (for example, in Mario 64 port it works perfectly).

Several packages have been updated, including the compilation form, so they have been optimized.

Added compatibility with most OPKs that are being released for OD beta.

Note: Recovery.opk is only a simple script that check the partitions in sdcard file system and erase nor personal residual configs, maybe this can help you some time.

I use a wifi usb dongle with a usb-c adapter in the otg port.

This is the specific model I use: https://www.amazon.com/Plugable-Wireless-802-11n-Network-RTL8188EUS/dp/B00H28H8DU

I think anything with the Realtek RTL8188EUS Chipset should work.

For some reason with 1.7.15, Super Mario RPG no longer runs at 60 fps in the mushroom kingdom. It did on 1.7.14.

However I can't figure out how to downgrade to 1.7.14. The 1.7.14 .bin file for using with win32diskimager is nowhere available, so I found the newest one with the .bin and it's 1.7.12.

Now that I am on 1.7.12 I can't find any way to upgrade to 1.7.14. The OPK file does nothing. I put it on my RG350 and every time I open it it immediately closes with no errors.

Can anyone help please?

no idea why your opk isn't working but...

1.7.10
has the lowest input lag

you can simply copy

Code: [Select]
modules.squashfs
rootfs.squashfs
vmlinuz.bin

from the fat partition to quickly make backups of any version
