Be sure you flash the image from RG350M firmware, it is tagged as 1.7.10M.

in my haste to test I had not noticed that it was not a single version but they were two specific versions. My mistake, thank you

I think the only option with stock firmware is to flash internal sd card.

Has anyone tried using the opk update patch for HDMI and then applying the opk update for ROGUE to see if HDMI works after? I'm talking about the update that someone posted to YouTube back in May.

Hi There.

Running RG350M on Rogue CFW 1.7.10M and noticed some small issues. I think it's also present on the stock firmware. When running ports/homebrew after power on or reboot it occasionally gives me cracking and popping sounds, the game also runs super slow. I then have to quit the game and run it again and it stops. Happens on Chocolate Doom, Open Sonic, Streets of Rage Remake ect. The Emulators have no such problems except the Temeper Emulator (PCE) which also skips and has popping sound but can be fixed by restarting the emulator.

I've checked the log file and it repeatedly says ALSA lib pcm.c:8432:(snd_pcm_recover) underrun occurred.
After this the sound pops and crackles and the games runs slow.

Any solutions to this?

Thanks and keep up the good work!

There are 2 types Pops. hardware pops can't be fix with firmware alone. 1) hardware Speaker popping at Power on/off, open apps/emulators, volume up from 0 this can only be hardware fixed with adding capacitors to the speaker amps. https://www.reddit.com/r/RG350/comments/gxabok/rg350m_audio_pops/?sort=new
2) In game emulators popping/cracking sound/glitches are software/emulation problems thus need software/emulator fixes.

To be clear, I am not talking about hardware pops, I am talking about software bugs. The cracking happens only ocasionaly followed by errors in the log file and only in games not emus. Sometimes it?s fine (clear sound) and sometimes it isn?t... Mekes me wonder if it has somethink to do with the audio drivers. I found this: https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=185736

@xb000x the JZ4770 has a completely separate audio output for the headphones that doesn't go through any opamp circuit - just an AC-decoupling capacitor.

In your reddit post, you wrote: "The in-game D/A audio chip turn on/off pops are heard AND doesn't affect the headphone amp, headphone still pops everything."

This is clearly a software problem: I bet when headphone pops are eliminated by fixing the driver, then the speaker ones will also go away.

Hi, congratulations on supporting RG350M!

However I've found an issue with PCSX4all and hardware scaling (also reported here https://boards.dingoonity.org/retro-game-350rg-350/pcsx4all-hardware-scaling-issue). On some titles (in my experience I've had it with Grandia and The legend of Dragoon), the picture will not fill the whole screen, you get vertical black bars on both sides.

It does happen with stock firmware too... but not on the regular RG350 (tested on Rogue 1.7.10).

Well, I've ran into more hardware scaling issues.

Fceux "FS smooth" scaling is completely messed up.

Fullscreen scaling on Neogeo games in FBA has issues also, some weird glitchy vertical bar on the right side of the screen.

So far unfortunately I'm kind of disappointed with the RG350M. This higher res screen brings too many issues.

I might return it...

Request to Ninoh-FOX for an addition to future firmware update.
Since you've added a brightness setting within settings how about adding the sharpness setting as well?

Is it possible upgrade toolchain gcc version from 4.9 to 6+ of your firmware. Because some project like EasyRPG player start using C++14 as baseline, which is not support by gcc 4.9. And gcc 5+ have different ABI, new program compile by g++ 5+ can not using  firmware's gcc 4.9 version stdc++ share library.
Hello Ninoh-FOX,

I am also interested by such a gcc upgrade to gcc 6.
Is it in your roadmap ?

Regards.
