Media Player Formats
« on: November 25, 2019, 12:25:59 am »
Hey,

Does anyone know the formats for the media that work well ? I have tried so many types and they all stutter and freeze :(

Assuming you mean video then: Using  "Handbrake" for PC, Go to the Presets and use the "Apple 240P 30" setting (In the "Devices" option) in the dropdown menu to convert your videos . Handbrake is a freeware and not available in Windows store.

H264 with fast decode enabled and a low CRF should playback pretty fast on the RG-350.
Another format worth considering is RoQ or Cinepak. Slow to encode but pretty fast to decode.

Maybe it's time for someone to try to extract the hardware accelerated video decoding bits from the CI20 (jz4780 SoC) MPlayer repo and see how much is applicable to jz4770 hardware.

I will give it a shot :)  Thank you for the tip, as always greatly appreciated

I wish I knew how to do this kinda stuff.... There Chinese devices are great but media playback is awful...

Hopefully one day a "Cheap, powerful and well designed" Android device will be released. I do not are for the touchscreen element but the media playback features and on online gaming has potential to be epic...

Imagine FBA or MAME... a 2 player game of street fighter 2 over wifi with a friend 1000's of miles away
