Java Games / MidPath
« on: February 01, 2020, 11:03:53 pm »
Hey All,

I read about a bit about Midpath / Java on the Open Dingux here and there...I found this video of Java on Open Dingux but no tutorial on getting games working. I grabbed the GCW0 Midpath OPK :)

I just wondered if it can play Java games like "Silent Hil 3" "Metal Gear Solid" and "Brothers in Arms" ?

Has anyone got any pointers or anything special I need to know ?

Midpath has poor game compatibility.  most of them, when trying to launch, return to the selection of the game and do not start.  the program does not yet see all the buttons.  no support for L2, R2, R3, L3.  There is no way to flip the screen 90 degrees to bring the game to standard 240x320.  I really hope that the J2ME emulator is done and it will be good.

Yes, I got a lot of graphic and sound glitches and button issues. Some freeze, others just load backgrounds but not characters. Most fail with button compatibility... only bejeweled was playable, but screen was out of place.

Would be amazing to have this working ;)
