Boxart on Rogue FW
« on: August 20, 2020, 12:19:20 am »
Doesnt Rogue FW stock menu/launcher let you see boxart?

I successfully did this with my Pocket Go2 (fauly unit, long story).
Using stock FW but I have the roms on the internal SD,meaning the first slot with the OS on,But I also have them on the hidden parition. Plan to give this away to nephew so dont want him accidentally deleting roms thats why I have the rom folders there.
Anyway,in each rom folder I have the previews folder, scraped using screenscraper.fr resized to 320x240.
Works fine on the PG2.

But on my RG350 (using latest Rogue FW  I have rom folders on the extrernal SD.
Same set up but nothing shows.
Tried preview type 1 and 2 in the GMenu2x options,no show.

Have I missed something? Doesnt Rogue FW allow it? Is my only choice Simple Menu or ES?

Tried the stock FW on RG350,previews ofcourse work on that.
Isnt there a way of getting it working on Rogue FW?
Or is the only way to get boxart on Rogue is use Simple Menu or ES?

Hi!

It works, yes, you need put the previews in the .previews folder inside the rom folder, in .PNG format :-)

Yeah I did that.
Like I said, works on stock FW but not on Rogue.

Or,does the previews folder have to have the dot in front of the previews text? So the folder would be called .previews
Doesnt have to on stock firmware but when I try to name the folder .previews (with the dot in front) windows wont let me and says "you must type in a file name"

edit:
OK,Got it sorted.
I was able to  create a folder with dot in front when using Diskgenius and doing it that way.
Not in windows.

Windows 10 has no problem, but on Windows 7 just follow the format .previews. and take note of the two dots at the beginning and end.
