Hopefully a lesson for others: instead of trying to save few bucks buying a really crap console, and then expecting that someone will be willing to sacrifice their time "fixing" it, spend a little more (wait to save more if you have to) and buy a device that is known to be supported.
Besides, if crappy software might be fixable, crappy hardware isn't.
