POWKIDDY Q90: is it any good?
« on: October 05, 2020, 08:53:53 pm »
First of all, if I am in the wrong section, or if there is already a similar topic, I am sorry. I checked, and I haven't seen anything about this.

I am looking for a very affordable (which is a nice way to say cheap :D) GBA device. I bought some days ago a Retromini and opendingux'd it. Performance got better, that is undeniable.
Today, I saw a Powkiddy Q90 sold on Amazon for 30 $, and bought it. If I don't like it, I'll ask for a refund.
Being said that I would only use it for GBA emulation, how does it perform? Is it ok with stock firmware for the majority of GBA library? Retromini did pretty well with 2d games, but when you begin with wider maps (RPGs such as FFVI Advance or Sword of Mana) it starts suffering a bit. I have already read about Q90's bad performance with SNES and PSX, but the only system I care about is GBA :D

Thank you in advance!
