The pokegear is based on arm, this is not the right section. However steward will try to make it work hopefully :D

EDIT: This is the thread for the pokegear: https://boards.dingoonity.org/other-game-systems/poke-gear-handheld-console/

I believe Steward said he was looking into it but then i heard nothing back from him.
I'm not even sure he got hold on one.

Lets hope he will, the device has little use with the current fw - posted in the original topic.

- CPU not marked (see stewards teardown, mine is identical)
- Screen is IPS/VA type. Seems to be 320 x 240 conventional RGB-stripe but I haven't got it under the microscope yet. The screen connector is different than the pocket-go, the number of pins is not the same.
- Doesn't seem like the USB data pins are actually connected to anything, but need to confirm. Nothing shows up in lsusb and I don't see any traces.
- Connector J1 looks interesting but I haven't poked at it yet.
- System came with a 1GB micro SD. The only files are ~12 GBA multi-roms in a FAT32 partition... nothing interesting. The system will boot without the SD card.

So there is a 1GB sdcard reserved for ROMs? One could fit a lot of GBA ROMs there, so once someone figures out how to create compatible multi-roms, the device might not be as terrible, even with the default fw.

Mine came without the SD card, even though the seller promised me one. So without those multirom images I am stuck loading one game at a time :( I don't mind that as much as the fact that it runs the GBA the ROMs a little slowwry than usual. It is not that noticeable in RPGs and some games, but others it is quite noticeable.

Ok so I flashed it with a few different versions of the bittboy cfw I'm running. They all had the same effect and did not boot the original pokegear fw but just produced a black screen so it's doing something... lol. I assumed it wouldn't work just wanted to try. But the results seemed a little promising! Like you guys are all saying it plays well the volume wheel is nice and the screen is much better than the bittboy screen at least for the backlight bleeding. Someone needs to code a CFW this thing is awesome!

You say you flashed it, how exactly? Did you backup the original FW? because mine got bricked as I was flashing mine (the machine bugs out if you turn it on/off while connected to a USB that is also a data line (PC, some routers). So if you know how ot reflash the original FW, I am interested in it and the method to try to restore mine.

I'm still running the original firmware. I inserted the sd card I partitioned for my bittboy and it somewhat seemed to recognize the bittboy cfw... I'm just playing around with it but the firmware is built into the console unlike the bittboy we are used to won't even boot without an ad card.

I haven't tried to connect it directly to my laptop yet as the original fw works right now I'd love if someone figured out how to flash it with cfw because it's amazing
