PGS, A real thing?
« on: January 16, 2017, 06:12:38 pm »
For anyone not familiar, the PGS was/is a console in development that, they claim, will be able to function as both your cell phone and a discrete PC gaming device so you can play games on the go.
A lot of the information about this thing went dark after their kickstarter campaign got canned and a crafty youtuber put out some strange information on the developer. They recently made an announcement that the release will be delayed (shocker), while making bigger claims about performance and functionality.
What do you guys think, still vaporware or will they just release something that's barely functional?

Yeah. I saw that thread. I'm just curious what people think about this latest update or if any opinions have changed.

If you already saw the original thread...then why did you waste time by making a new thread when you could have just posted in the original thread??

They're still showing renders for everything, that's hardly going to change people's minds on they're skill to make the device a real working piece of hardware.

It looks like they finally explained how the screen moving mechanism will work but the final form looks unconfortable, the screen is TOO close to the front buttons. If that's the expected position to play, they're doing it wrong.

New update from PGS

http://blog.pgslab.com/
An overhead of a house, two workstations somewhere else, a phone's pcb, scribbles at a presentation before peking duck, a plan to be at E3 this year, and continuing to accept preorder money in exchange for promises yet delivered. If it weren't so blatant...

Now that the top screen covers a lot of the bottom screen when open, why didn't they remove the bottom screen.  It was pointless before, now it's ridiculous

They really could just opt for making it slide all the way up. I hope what's being shown is only for style, and not actually locked in place. I never seen a 3 way D-Pad before, lol! As for the bottom screen, while cool to see, and agree that it's probably not needed. Most portable users are well accustomed to using one screen for everything, even DS emulation.

The new slogan trips me out, "NOW IT'S REAL"???  So, it wasn't real before, but then they saw how much money GPD made with their portable PC and now they see potential, lol!

However, I really hope this device does release and prove all doubters (including myself) wrong.

PGS is talking a big game.

two cpus:  z8750 for windows and helio x20 for android
a toggle to switch between the two operating systems
6800mAh battery

I am keeping my expectation at zero for PGS and SmachZ.

Latest picture looks like they're hoping people think their renders are of a real device  lol....
