Adding FBA games to the Powkiddy a13.
« on: January 21, 2021, 02:34:51 am »
HI,

I've just bought myself the powkiddy a13, which runs retroarch and FBA . (not sure about version numbers)

I had  a few older arcade roms which I was hoping to add to it Have tried mr do, ms pac man and super space invaders so far, with no luck) - all are FBA compatible according to: https://raw.githubusercontent.com/libretro/fbalpha/master/gamelist.txt

SO - I've got the game list creation worked out - http://wagnerstechtalk.com/pka12/, and downloaded "FBA" versions of the roms, but when I try to run them - they all say "not supported".

Have also tried the "FBACACHE" program -

You can leave them zipped but most will run out of memory and crash so you need to run this script to convert them to fba

It takes up a lot of space so choose the games you want wisely. If you are looking for a complete set google it. I believe the emulator made and appearence on the xbox...Hint! Hint!

but it just tells me the roms are not found, (they're in the sub directory called "roms" - the batch file creates the romlist, but fails - and calling the exe file with "fbacache -d mrdo.zip" says not found...

Is it likely that it's incompatible, or have I missed a step somewhere?

The Retroarch version of the A13's OFW is 1.7.4. I recommend you to take a look to Team Ruka's CFW for the A12, totally compatible with A13 that adds a full unlocked retroarch 1.9, with OpenBOR and Daphne support. They have a Telegram group here: https://t.me/joinchat/Cckoi1br7AntQI98xCK-RA
