A new toy for my hacker needs
« on: April 02, 2010, 05:58:16 am »
So ive been looking into getting a new device to enjoy for a while cause im sick of my PSP (8gb) CFW and my Dingoo A320 (12gb)  CFW dingux...because of the lack of homebrew updates.. I understand its hard.... i was looking into getting a Nintendo DSi XL or a Smartq V5, or a Gp2x f200 or Gp2x wiz or wait for a pandora... Im not sure how to even compare or chose. I like playing games and going on the internet. I like how the nintendo Ds has a Camera on it.. But i also like homebrew and so far the XL has no R4 (like) chips to allow booting of roms or homebrew app or games. I like how the smartq v5 is a touchscreen tablet with Multiple OS but i think the size of the storage is way to small and i like playing games.. For the Wiz and F200 I dont like how on the wiz the dpad is way to flat and the f200 is hard to find and buy online with having to get charged 15 dollars in shipping and handling (because i live in the US) and they make me pay more just like my dingoo. ($83).. I think the pandora is going to take way to long to release and their are alot of bugs that thing i heard. Its a good concept and design. It would be a good console. so Anyone help me decide..

well all i'm gonna say is don't go for the smartq, they seem to break a lot and generally suck for the price

I would get a DS Lite simply because you can play virtually all GBA games perfectly on it ;D. If your needs lean more towards hacking, then consider the Nanonote:

It's cheap.

If you´re really into hacking, i read the Yeelong Laptop shall be incredibly open:

Also a little linux laptop might suit you, they have an Ingenics chip like the Dingoo and are very cheap by now.

There are some useful links in the "Links" section  ;D
like: http://www.totallytrygve.com/phpbb3/viewforum.php?f=18 or http://linuxlaptopforum.ark2webdesign.co.uk/
 :)
And they are really cheap, a new one is 99€: http://www.handheld-linux.com/wiki.php?page=Letux%20400&referer=Letux%20400
Here the specs, i wonder if it runs Dingux apps (despite the higher resolution)?
