Nexus 7 + PS3 controller + GameKlip
« on: December 31, 2012, 11:45:33 pm »
I have been frustrated with the quality and performance of the current android handhelds so I decided to see how the Nexus and a PS3 controller would work with a GameKlip. Obviously this is not that practical for a portable, but it works surprisingly well for a nice handheld to use at home. I find it comfortable to hold and not overly heavy. Just thought I would share in case anyone else was curious about how well the GameKlip would work with a 7 inch tablet.

Pretty cool playing GTA Vice City on a handheld, and a nice 7" screen at that. Analog and d-pad work great on N64. Also the EPSXE playstation 1 emulator for android is pretty good quality. First time I have been able to play NHL 98' on an android machine and the EA sports games I try work perfect as well, even ones that wont work on the PSP.

Happy New Year to everyone!!

I have not experienced any delay issues or control issues with the games I have tried so far. I have tested PS1, nintendo, super nes, sega genesis, and N64 emulators. It works excellent for mame4droid reloaded as well. The button mapping works great for all the emulators. I have only used it with the wire that comes with the gamesklip, not wireless, not sure if that would make a difference or not.

The only thing I have not been able to figure out is how to use the sixaxis app to map touchscreen only games to the controller. My nexus is rooted and I cant seem to figure it out. But other then that all the emulators and android games that allow for external controller work excellent so far.
