jxd s18 teardown
« on: November 20, 2012, 04:08:11 pm »
just got mine and one of the first things to do was taking it apart :p

the screen. as you can see, 4 connections for resistive touch.

the tiny motherboard, battery (with lots of space) and speaker. also it looks like there are pins for another connector... capacitive touch?

screwed the board off to show the back. another row of pins... which one of those is for capacitive touch? :p imma hack it if possible.

also i dont see a direct same wiring of the headphone jacks which leaves hope for tv out. and i yet need to make/buy a mini usb host adapter to test its usb host ability :p

so far im pretty pleased with it. installed go launcher, had no problem replacing the original launcher with it (its still installed though).
now someone needs to make a new rom with overclocking ability and clean up the mess. skelton? :p

one more tip: if you want to apply a screen protector (which you most probably do because the touch screen doesnt feel too nice and scratches easily) remove the screen and apply the protector foil on the bare screen. thats much easier and you dont have to hassle to put it on perfectly to not overlay on the plastic.
