IPEGA ANDROID CONTROLLER
« on: January 31, 2013, 09:55:44 pm »
Hello. I recently purchased a ipega controller and It doesnt seem to work very well. Im not sure what I am doing or not doing. I have a Galaxy S3 and the controller only works on one game and it freezes alot. I was wondering if someone knows anything about this controller and could help me to pair it and make it work with my phone.

Apparently you use the Gametel driver app.

How are you finding the controller btw, is it ok? The price looks too good to be true (?15 shipped) and I've been thinking about getting one.

I got one of these recently and it works great.

I'm using it on a Samsung Galaxy S (Android version 4.1.2 - CyanogenMod 10). I didn't need to install any special software to use it.

Don't expect it to work with all games but it works great with games that do support the game pad and should work with most emulators once you map the buttons.

You need to be aware it can be started in different modes. Hold down "HOME and A" when starting for keyboard mode and "HOME and X" for joystick mode.

I've tried it with:
Gunman Clive - keyboard mode
Sonic CD - keyboard mode
Mupen64 - joystick mode
SNESDroid - joystick mode

I haven't tried mapping the buttons to screen touches yet. Can anyone recommend a good app to do that?

Just received mine after a lengthy wait (typical dealextreme) and it pairs fine with my phone. Feels quite nice for the money, analog sliders are a bit twitchy but not bad.

Interestingly enough I got it to pair with my netbook (Windows 7) by right clicking the device and checking the drivers box, that way there is no code entry and it is picked up automatically byt the PC as a Broadcom gamepad. Been playing GRID with it and it works great!

I've been playing mine on the iPhone and it's not bad for the price. I am cautiously optimistic that their Android handheld will be a cut above the rest.
