Thanks for your comments gameblabla and I'm sorry to disappoint you
No problem, i'm just telling you what other people (and i) might think when they first see the game.
Sadly, having your game to be noticed on the Google Play Store is very hard and people tend to have high expectations nowadays.
One mistake and they'll discard it.
Trust me, i went there and i know them.
Why Godot instead SDL2? Maybe because I'm getting old and just wanted to make things faster.
I guess for Android, it's fine but using a framework like Godot tend to use more resources so people might complain
of having slowdowns on their crappy phones.
And Yes, they use SDL2 and SDL2_mixer and that's pretty much it.
There are several advantages as to use SDL2 and C/C++ :
- You can compile your games for all the supported platforms : armeabi, arm7hf, arm64, x86, x86-64, mips, mips64...
- If there's an upgrade to Godot, it might break your game. Not an issue here at all
- You are not dependant on Godot should any incompatibilies with a recent version of Android arise.
And so on...
It's your choice really.
Of course, what matters the most are games themselves but doing so should avoid you a lot of technical issues.
