My main concern- All that power, plus huge screen, plus touch pad, plus wifi, plus bluetooth = Huge power consumption. How long will the batteries last before needing recharge? It's size is a bit bigger than I'd like aswell. Still this things a beast and with two thumbsticks is gonna have some awesome games.

It seems like an awesome device with a less awesome price.

Quad-core ARM Cortex-A9 processor, 5-inch touchscreen OLED display with 960 x 544 resolution, dual analog sticks, 3G, WiFi, GPS, a rear-mounted touchpad, the same accelerometer/gyroscope motion sensing as in the PlayStation Move, an electronic compass, and cameras on both the front and back.

Sounds fantastic. OLED is great and means the PSP2 can be used outdoors no problem. Hopefully the 3G, WiFi, GPS can be switched off to prolong the battery.

CPU wise this will just be average in a year or so.  With smartphones as powerful as they are I actually see additional controls being added onto them which would definitely cut into the PSP2's appeal.  And frankly the android/ios stores are more full of innovative indy games which you maybe won't find on the PSP2 due to the high development costs.

I seriously wonder if the handheld market of the last 20 years is even still really viable in today's market.

Pixel Qi screens will toast this one, especially for power use.  Too bad they're still mostly vapor.  Perhaps PSP2 2k will use one of those.

I still don't think Sony understand mobile gaming. There's a few PSP games i like but i held off buying one (i'm hopefully gonna pick one up silly cheap this afternoon) because of the rehashed home console versions which don't suit gaming on the go at all. I think this will go the same way, with very few essential games.

They're never going to win a hardware war competing with the ever-changing Android scene, especially as hendheld consoles have long lifespans compared to phones. It will be the best bit of tech for about a month before it looks old in comparison to the latest phones

Tbh i'm struggling to see what any company can do to rival the awesomeness of Starfox in 3D.
Handhelds:
GPD Win, GPD XD 64gb, Pap KIII-Plus, RS-97, RS-90, New Bittboy, 3DS XL, DSi XL, GBA SP, GBBC Clone, Gameboy Pocket, PSP Go,
PC:
HP Envy M6, Acer 522, Dell Mini 9
Psion 5 & 5MX
Tons of other old laptops and tablets.....
