First thing that comes to mind is 'awkward'. Why is it not a clamshell design? That really helps protect the screens and keeps it more portable. Why the wedge shape? The button placement (especially the shoulder buttons) look uncomfortable. I've got a 3DS XL though and it's awesome.

Cheaper handheld than the original, at most, to drive game sales up..? And since it hasn't been hacked yet...

It isn't even a significant price difference, and it's ugly..

Is there some kind of sleep button to simulate the opening/closing of the missing clam shell since some game needs this to go further in game (like Zelda : phantom hourglass on NDS) ?

But you can't deny Nintendo's growing love for tablets any more...
How soon Chinese would adopt that shape?

This looks so much like a spoof / mockup design that I had to check it wasn't a very well made hoax advert!  What a bizarre turn of events.

Apparently it only has one screen, divided by the plastic case.  Makes me wonder why they didn't just leave it as one large touchscreen so it could double as a tablet.  And still no second analogue slider.  Oh Nintendo!

This is a strange move for Nintendo.  I wish they'd make a new small handheld with a form factor like the original GBA.

To be fair to them with the 3D down to 2D approach, there is a warning that you need to be a certain age to use the 3D feature and this is aimed at the younger market.

I like it, only complaints are L & R are a bit of a stretch (haven't played any games that use them yet, though), and it doesn't come in my favorite color scheme in the US (red & white, like my favorite national flag  :P)

Yes. But while a sleep slider was added, they removed the wireless switch. If you feel the need to turn wireless off, there is now a setting in the home menu.
