I had a proto of this modelo, before it stopped working and was quite bad. Terrible perfomance comparing with gpd xd or q9. Dpad was bad Too. Also, I think is highly overpriced.

Why even release a System with that old Chipset in end 2016 / 2017 and at  a Price that is 200 $ too high even if it was a new Rockchip SOC.

I had the S7800 with a 720P Screen and even back then the Soc was struggling with high end Games and Emulation of 3d Systems.  With new Games and the higher Resolution the Person buying this wont have any fun.

I really wonder sometimes who at JXD has these brilliant ideas...

So what other portable can you get that is comparable with the same ergonomics and screen size/resolution?

I don't like squinting at 5" screens and the "soap bar" (Vita etc) style is quite uncomfortable to use, especially trigger buttons.

The S192 was a great form factor and nice to use, it just suffered from reliability issues.  If that could be brought up to snuff there would be nothing else like it.

@DaveC1964 I'd go with the GPD Q9.  It's also 7", and uses the same chipset.  You can get them pretty cheap.

I  will wait.  The Q9 is too low res.  With emus the upscaling looks coarser with less resolution to work with plus like I said that form factor is not comfortable to  actually use.

One of these days someone will do it right.  The S192 was close if not for the QC issues.

I've received one response from JXD with several attempts.  They told me that they are still working on the new S192, and that it is still coming.  No word on anything else I've asked them.

If JXD is smart (which they aren't) the should wait to RK3399, because releasing it with RK3288 with that huge resolution is a terrible mistake. (device performed very poorly in the RK 3288 proto I had).

I agree.  There are Mediatek chips also.  They have some great chips, and I am sure they would love to work with another vendor.  I'm not sure why they would go backwards on this design.
