Mobile Standby?
« on: February 01, 2014, 08:08:33 pm »
Checking what is using some of my battery, I find this entry:

I don't seem to remember seeing this before. I have Tan's firmware updated and don't think I've messed around with too many things. Is this normal? Can I get rid of it since it does seem to have an impact on battery life.

I got rid of it by deleting phone.apk and telephonyprovider.apk (not sure which was causing it).

Ok, wouldn't let me delete them. Do I need to connect it to a PC and delete those files that way?

Ugh, I am so off today lol.

Thanks!

Edit: Ok, just so I don't delete anything that will kill my system, what should I delete? I found two entries: Mobile Data v4.2.2 and Mobile Network Configuration v4.2.2. Mobile Data is an "OS Kernel" and the app says "no touch" which I assume means do not mess with, lol. Mobile Network Config is an "OS Component" and the app says "keep it". Like I said I just want to be sure I don't delete anything important. Thanks again!

I used es file explorer, mount /system rw, then renamed the .apk files (to .apk.dis or whatever), and rebooted. Settings crashes if you go to About tablet -> Status, but I haven't noticed any other problems.
