Looks like they modified the S7100 chassis.  Looking forward to more pictures.  Wonder what the price is going to be like.

Ooh, NOW we're getting somewhere!  A proper d-pad, dual sticks and 4 shoulder buttons could actually persuade me to buy an Android device.  I'll be keeping my fingers crossed for good build quality.

Well this has 90.000 Andrews. That must count for something...
I bet Dreamcast emulation needs at least 100,000 Andrews...

Shoulder buttons R2/L2 seem to be on both side and can't be easily reached...  :/
Bad point for me, i prefer the location on the Archos Gamepad.

BTW, what is a "andrews" ?? a kind of unit ?

To be honest I imagine using the R2/L2 buttons on either device is going to be a bit awkward.  With the JXD they do indeed appear to be weirdly placed on the sides, and on the Archos you have to take your thumbs off the sticks to press them.  I hope someone will be able to do a comparative review at some point.

BTW, what is a "andrews" ?? a kind of unit ?
No idea!  It just sounded funny.  Maybe it was supposed to be something like "90,000 Android apps".  (Are there that many?  I wouldn't be surprised.)

Seems like the playing a game and using the analog sticks for an extended period would be uncomfortable.  The sticks are way low on the device and it would be tough to try and hold the device while using the sticks at the same time.

I'm trying to work out how big this thing is in relation to my hands.  If it's a 7" screen, then I reckon the whole device is about 9.5" x 5", and that's going to make the distance from the sticks to the upper shoulder buttons too far for me to reach at all, never mind for an extended period.

Just a stab in the dark - it may be designed with the side shoulder buttons being the same function as the upper ones, so you press whichever pair you can reach depending on whether you are using the sticks or the d-pad.  That would mean just L1/R1 twice instead of what we really want.

Mind you, it does sort of look like there are actually two buttons on each side, so there may be another pair on the top as well that we can't see.   Also, I've just noticed the smaller picture shows the sticks positioned above the d-pad & buttons, so it's anyone's guess how the finished model is going to look!

(EDIT: correcting typo)

to hide the status bar there is many apps that do the trick. I'm using GMD GestureControl and works well on my devices.

This looks delicious... It literally looks like a full-blown tablet version of the Wii U Gamepad. Was originally considering getting an S7100, but perhaps I should hold off? Missing Start and Select buttons are a bit worrisome... Maybe just a prototype?

As nice as it looks, these 7" systems look like total monsters to me.  Do any of you think this or even the wii u is a practical system?  it would be nice to know however, it the larger size has allowed better thermal  handling than the smaller systems.

From a purely portable gaming standpoint? Perhaps not. I think 4 or 5" is the sweet spot for portability.

But something to tool around the house with, while the wife/kid is watching TV, and bring able to switch from gaming to movie watching? Sounds like a great option.
