wonder if the delay might be changing the specs . maybe moving to a rockchip rk3066.

wonder how soon it will be till quad core handhelds will be out,   i.MX6Q is doing the rounds
for chinese tablets ,  but a nice Exynos 4412 would great and with the latest emulators improving alot
hopefully wont just be ps and n64, but might even get some playable dreamcast and psp.

the Freescale quadcore is a bit dissapointing specially its GPU Vivante. I think that JXd just made a strategy. they have just released the mono core s5300, so if they do the same with s5600, nobody will buy s5300, so maybe after a a couple of months or so, they will decide to release s5600B, but ot is just a guess. Of course would be nice to include RK3066 or an Exynos, but I would be quite surprised they did. They never used Rockchip before, all the previous non-gaming tablet by JXD has been amlogic or allwinner. Bujt would be nice they changed some parts of hardware.

At least with the s7300B we can get a general idea about how these new system by JXD will work.

@skelton,

you are right. I think JXD will take a consideration on better chip in their next production. But they are now arranging their production for products- JXD S5300, s7300 dual core- then next...

By the way, JXD S5600 dual core had been delay. Still no date for releasing it. :'(

I am also very expecting to see their better consoles in 2013. ;)

FYI I've added the S5600A/B to the gdgt.com database, so you all can go add it to your "want" list now :D

Maybe not rockchip or exynos, as JXD hasn't used them before but ...

Maybe they're preparing something with an Allwinner A31 in mind??? I'd buy that without a doubt. Perfect chip for a handheld console.

Difficult to know, but it's a possibility, ot the new mediatek quad cores, which is very similar to allwinner a31. However, the Rockchip is pretty good, even the "simple" smlogic-mx is quite enough for most emulators I think.

That's right for emulators. But provided the performance/price ratio this arm proccessors are achieving, you could think that new consoles shouldn't be aiming at emulators only. Android games are growing in quality at a high rate and it would be good to have a tablet with controls embedded that could run high performance games and not be obsolete in months.

The a31 has a powerful gpu perfect for this conditions, and the a7 proccessors shouldn't be an impact in the goal this consoles would be made for. JXD has worked with allwinner procs before ... so i'd love to see an a31 7" handheld with 7300/5600 controls.
