JXD S7300 reviews
« on: February 03, 2013, 07:23:20 am »
As reviews start to pop up for the JXD S7300, I hope we can consolidate them into one thread to make it easier for potential buyers to make a decision. I will start with two reviews that haven't been mentioned here, yet:

http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/df-hardware-jxd-s7300-review

Summary: The S7300 is most definitely the best tablet with gaming controls we've seen so far - although given the dire standard of the competition, that isn't exactly saying a great deal.

http://www.maxconsole.com/news/ANDROID/REVIEW--JXD-S7300-Gamepad2-RKSID00000000000000000790.html

Summary: While the device isn't 100% perfect (what product is), The S7300 is a powerful tablet at a budget price while still offering solid game-play for those that simply refuse to play games without physical controls. Full root control of the device, HDMI out, front facing camera and other smaller features do also tack on some additional value.

Also expect a full review from Gizchina soon:

God, reading the comments on EG is akin to dragging a piece of barbed wire through one ear and out the other.  Actually... it would likely be preferable than reading the comments.

Media industry brainwashing...... I guess the tape recorder, the VCR, the PC, and the rooted android device are all "piracy devices" as well..... "illegal"? it should be illegal to be so stupid.

Once you realise the comments section of EuroGamer (and pretty much every other gaming site) is mainly populated by overweight 14yr old virgins taking a break from pwning n00bz on COD:MW-BF Black Ops2347 it's pretty easy to make the decision not to look at them.

Handhelds:
GPD Win, GPD XD 64gb, PlayGo, RS-90, 3DS XL, DSi XL, GBA SP, GBBC Clone, Gameboy Pocket c/w screen mod, PSP Go
PC:
Medion Erazer, Toshiba Z20t, Dell Mini 9, Psion 5MX
Tons of other old laptops and tablets.....

The worst thing is, you know each and every one of them is a barefaced liar too.   They've NEVER used an emulator?  Never borrowed a friend's copy of a game?  Never listened to music online?   Never recorded movies off the telly?  Pfft.  Hypocritical slots.

Hahaha, that too ;D

The comparison images are pretty nice.

I didn't realize the irony in this photo until later. Seems like a nice subtle jab to the "Wii U is a tablet!" people. ;)

I only wish JXD had taken a LITTLE more influence and moved the face buttons/dpad further up the system.  Unless you have large hands, it's going to be slightly uncomfortable to use face buttons and triggers together.   The rest looks better than the Wii-U controller though, especially the slimness of the device compared to the bulky controller.

~edit~

If anything, it's the JXD s5600b that I'm more interested in.  Sure it has a smaller screen, but at the same resolution it will actually look a tad better, and the control placements are excellent too.   It's a shame JXD went quiet about it, though I guess they're trying to push the 7300 first.  Which is good!  Hopefully that will give them time to take feedback onboard about the 7300, both in terms of software and manufacturing quality, and *hopefully* implement that on the 5600.

I see that in the eurogamer review they post a picture of the gamex app in english. How the heck did they change the language? because I wasn't able to wrap my head around it!

installing gamex on custom rom is english, cause the build prop is set to usa. any other language it defaults to chinese. also has more games, cause it has chinese games. so basicly its gamex loads.check.language english= load english.xml other=default(chinese).xml they should had done the oposite check for china and if so use chinese and if not china english, as its a more comomon language.

As far as I know, 5600B will have different specs, there are several choices, but they will probably give up amlogic.

just repeating what they told my friend about testing the 5600b, 5600a was scrapped, testing prototype is done but production is on hold, they did state it would be offering all of the 7300 features just a smaller screen but at same resolution.

however i hope they wont bring the same bugs, same 50hz on a smaller screen. im willing to test it if jxd wants before relase just so they dont look like a bad joke when released but rather just small bugs lol. Also wish they didnt bundle emus, I know its a fad in china that they come with it but cant they do like us and download the one they like? must all be pirated software?

i think that the pricing on google play is priced to target the income of first world countries. maybe in china, buying an emulator for $10 USD takes a larger percentage of their income. So for them, its equivalent to paying closer ~$60. you have to factor their economic situation into the pricing.

they give you gamex that conects to restricted access subdomains in http://www.yesigame.com/ wich is full of roms, android games and all, using your language check it conects to a xml that lists games available they have xml for english or chinese games chinese being accessed by any language not english and has tons more games(in chinese of course) i made my own lil webbrowser for pc with headers and tools like android connect device id jxd and i can access the specific xml frpm pc and the links to the games lol.  we were just seing if gamex can be used in a productive way by making it access a specific xml file at a local adress on the console. ifwe do gamex could be used to run your own games and emus all you need is a text editor to add to the xml the path to your favorite emu on the device and the path to the game and to its icon. or make a parser to scan the folder and make the game list for you and to use savestate img from the game as icons lol.
