There is a scene developer version of the ps4 remote play that works on 4.0 and up android devices and I'm wondering if anyone has tried getting it to work on the s7800,I'm surprised it has not been talked about on here,i think remote play on the 7800 would be awesome better than on a vita ,if it's possible please help,I'll appreciate it

If I not mistaken, remote play is tied to a specific hardware. So, any non supported hardware would make it force close. You also need an account at psn.

However, if there is any solution, feel free to put it here.

But unfortunately we need to do it a little bit differently since we don't have any custom recovery inside s7800.

So, anyone can make it works, please do so in this thread and that would be beneficial for us.

Do I have to do a firmware flash for twrp or cwm to work or can I just use it on my existing web claw firmware? I hope someone tries to get remote play to work and help us out.:-)

Hi guys got ps4 remote play working on jxds7800b using original copy paste method with the downloaded dex jar and XML files. Copy method found on google. Then use xposed frame work experimental version and rootcloak latest version from the download section of xposed. Add PS app and remote play to rootclock to hide root from the app reboot and reinstall remote play. Also use file manager found on playstore to copy and paste files. This will only work on cyanogen mod 11 android version 4.4.3 search Google for instructions to flash this ROM. Note it MUST be version 4.4.3. I've tried all other ROMs and I haven't been successful getting remote play to work. If anyone else has got it working on 4.4.4 please can u let me know. Please note this version on cyanogen is in beta and I've noticed a few bugs with the happychick app so if you reay want happy chick with no bugs then do not download unless you no how to fix. Once again if anyone does can they let me know that to. Thanks and enjoy

Hi, I'm interested in getting PS4 remote play working on s7800b also, so far all ROMs I've tried have had issues and the app has forced closed on start every time.

Could you shed some light on how you got it working, e.g. link to the exact ROM you used any why you needed to use xposed framework?

For anyone else wondering, this is working for me now on latest supercharged ROM, skedars kernel and latest remote play installer from xda. Just got to figure out how to map tincore now.

if you refer to PS4 apk, well, you need some hardware requisites for running the apk

if you refer to my guide, yes, you can do with any android device, and you can stream any PS3/X360/PS4/XOne device (even in remote playing)

Also figured out tincore mappings now and even mapped l3 and r3 to hardware buttons so very happy. This + limewire for pc streaming + emulators = amazing little device.

Yes - the Supercharged ROM is V4.2.2. I'll describe below what I had to do to get it working.

Word of caution: this worked for me, but since there are different versions of the S7800B hardware out there I can't guarantee this will work for you...

To install the ROM I followed the instructions at http://boards.dingoonity.org/jxd-devices/s7800b-supercharged-v2-0-oc-reparted-ext2int-cwm-mrktfix/

You have to first flash V2.0 of the ROM through the RKBatchTool then apply the 2.2.1 update ZIP through CWM recovery.

After that I flashed the kernel from here http://boards.dingoonity.org/jxd-devices/%28jxd7800b%29-2014-kernel-only!-automatic-power-on-and-deep-sleep-fix/

This fixed the power problem I was having (pressing the power button was turning the device off instead of sending it to sleep). You might not have to do this - it depends on if you have the 2013 or 2014 model - I have the 2014 model so suspect I have the RK3188T variant of the chip rather than the RK3188.

The last step was to install the PS4 remote play app from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/apps-games/ps4-remote-play-t2929147

Somewhere along the way I think I also installed a version of the APK from http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/apps-games/mod-ps4-remote-play-native-gamepad-t2975609 before I figured out how to use the Tincore mapper (I was trying to get it to work with the S7800B built-in controls without Tincore) - but I don't think this step is necessary if you just use Tincore...

To get Tincore working I had to change the virtual gamepad in the settings to "MODE_P" - which I assume stands for Playstation? Then I selected the default gamepad profile which set most of the buttons up. Then I had to fiddle a bit to make sure the digital buttons were mapped to A, B, X, Y and assign the S7800B menu and keymapper hardware buttons to L3 and R3.

I had previously tried Webclaw 2.0 and a 4.4.4 ROM but on both of those the PS4 Remote Play app forced closed. I'm not exactly sure why it didn't work on those ROMs but I think it's either because the Hardware ID wasn't set correctly or because all Bluetooth support had been stripped out of the ROMs (the PS4 Remote Play app can use Bluetooth to connect to Dual Shock 4 so maybe the lack of any Bluetooth support at all in the other ROMs was causing problems? I was getting a NullPointerException in the ADB log output from the app when it forced closed and there was mention of the BlueTooth Binder being Null just before that so maybe...).

Anyway it's working now and seems to work better than Limelight streaming from PC.

I just got a PS4 for my birthday, and I toyed with buying a PS Vita just to get the Remote Play function.

However, the new games seem to have all but dried up for the vita, plus there aren't many great ones from the back catalogue that I can see. I've also heard that the remote play doesn't work that great anyway.

So rather than me splash out on a Vita I'd like to get this app working on my 7800b.

I've got my JXD to the point where I don't really want to muck about with the rom anymore (took a while!).

So has anyone made any progress on getting this app working on other roms? I am running the Kit kat custom firmware and the app just crashes when started.

As a user of the vita to remote play on a ps4 I can assure you that after the 60fps patch that was included a few months back, playing off screen now on a vita is akin to playing on a Wii u controller. It's now close to perfect in terms of frame rate and it's virtually lag free these days

I use it on the s5800 and setting it to high framerate gives little to no lag. Didn't need to mess about with roms either just installed the apk
