I just installed DOSBox Turbo. I haven't dug deep into it yet, but on first glance it looks like the mapping is going to be a bit of a challenge. As such, I might as well ask here if anyone has gotten past this challenge and knows the best way to set up the buttons. The D-pad defaults to arrow keys, which is sensible, but two of my S7800's action buttons seem to map to escape, which is of course very unpractical, and equally unpractically, I've yet to figure out how to map any of the other buttons either.
My devices are S5110 (Skelrom) and S7800 (WebClaw), but I suppose this thread is as good as any to post about mapping any given JXD device's controller buttons to keystrokes.
Has anybody had any success with this? Is there a particular challenge in mapping Ctrl (I assume Hacker's Keyboard might be instrumental)?

You can use the DoxBox profile manager to customize buttons / keyboard hacker is not really needed. You can simply edit the .conf files via SSH much faster. - I typically use a different keyboard layout for each game I play. I use the R1/R2 and L1 /L2 keys for my button alts (CTRL, ALT, SHIFT, etc).

What game are you trying to play? I'll send you the config file I use.

Well, I intend to play multiple games, but let's say for example Jazz Jackrabbit and the Commander Keen series (which I seem to recall differs in controls between 1-3 and 4-6, but I think it involves mostly the same buttons - ctrl, alt, space, enter, esc...the old standards).

I just got an s5800 (keys ok) and although i can make a mapper for psycho pinball, every time i start dosbox it loses the mapping and i have to redo it.
If you could give me a mapper file i could try to load it in the manual conf i have for the game (and maybe modify it for other games).

edit: Forgot to add that i'm using riley rom for the s5800. Currently experimenting with the various emulators/apps to see what helps in using the device/emulators.
