Android 5.0 for JXD S7800b

If someone could port a rom or edit a current rom to include the 5.0 kernel, it is possible.

What 5.0 kernel? There is no rockchip sdk for 5.0 in RK3188, just kitkat sdk, so even porting a lollipop it's quite nonsense because you would need to include kitkat or JB stuff in it, so no true Lollipop at all.

Anyhow, source code was released, which is something alllll people in this subforum was asking, so I am sure los of people will make kernels and other stuff, because there were so many people looking for the source that seemed there were lots of devs waiting.,...

Hi, skelton.

The guys from the Crew are building their roms specifically for JB kernels without selinux. Earlier I assumed that the kernel must be updated to KK to work with omni rom properly, but I was wrong due to the reason mentioned above.

I tried Lollipop test build on 7800 and it works with ART fully functional, but obviously has some problems.

You're right about devs - there are none.

Yep, as I say. 5.0 in RK3188 is possible, but using the same kernel as JB, the same Rockchip libraries (mali, gralloc, hwcomposer, etc), so for me this is not true Lollipop, so to speak, except the UI, because kernel is clearly outdated (it's a bit outdated even in kitkat)  Unless rockchip update their SDK to 5.0 in RK3188, 5.0 is just a ROM with JB or kitkat stuff. And at the moment rockchip SDK is 5.0 only for rk3288 (and still beta), for rk3188 is just 4.4.4

I only work in devices I own, and I don't have a 7800. I have had enough work with GPD devices, which are more developer friendly.

I only work in devices I own, and I don't have a 7800. I have had enough work with GPD devices, which are more developer friendly.

nice, i will have to check out some of your works there, fair fair man seems only logical, im going to start learning a bit myself and hopefully by next year i will be putting my own hands in the mix, but until then here i am relying on the community! thanks for all the work ;)
