A few JXD s5110 questions
« on: December 18, 2012, 01:56:03 am »
Hello, I recently ordered an s5110 from willgoo.com, i'm hoping to use this as a replacement for a hacked PSP for emulators and basic games, i think it has an advantage since it's android, has higher resolution and a touch screen, and I have a few questions while i wait on my order.

1. is it better to root it with gingerbread or ics?

2 . I see it is maxed to 800mhz on ics, do we get the full 1000mhz on gingerbread?

3. is the skelrom on willgoo.com s5110 page the most up to date version of skeltons gingerbread rom?

Thanks for any help :)

I show you the latest update for skeltons gingerbread rom as below:

http://forum.openhandhelds.net/index.php/topic,104.0.html

It is Christmas holiday shopping time. We are so busy on shipping orders. I will update the rom from Skelton once I have free time.

At the same time, you can ask Skelton for the rom if possible.

Hope it can help you.

Thank you for the quick reply willgoo.

I thought the rom at that link was the ics version because of it's name SkelRom v1.6 ICS s5110.rar?
Sorry, i'm just a little confused.

Definitely ICS.

I don't think so. It won't run at 850mhz or above.

See the following link. I believe it's the latest.

Thanks bboyd,  So the one on willgoo is indeed the most up to date gingerbread version i see.
Seeing what skelton says in that link about ics being better, i'll probably use Skelrom 1.6 ICS instead.

1. Both roms are rooted, but I suggest ICS (ICS has androidgamekey, whereas GB does not)

2. Overclock depends very much on each console, but difficult to get 1 ghz stable

3. check this for GB rom http://forum.openhandhelds.net/index.php/topic,109.0.html and this for ICS rom (updated some days ago) http://forum.openhandhelds.net/index.php/topic,104.0.html
