Getting support there is relative. We have a large user base, and we do try to be genuinely helpful, but having the dev chatter moved off-site to another Discord server has quieted the OD discussions a lot in general. I also hadn't even checked Dingoonity in long enough that I wasn't even aware of this thread until today. I have pinned it, and will make an effort to direct people to it when they have pertinent questions.
The dev chatter has never been on discord, but on IRC (#opendingux on libera.chat).

Riveting... I will point people at this thread when applicable. I will also update my RS90 flashing guide accordingly once I have had a chance to try out the new Windows flasher for OD.

I have updated my guide for flashing the RS-90 and RG-99 based on using the newest Windows flasher. I have tested it on both an RS-90 and an RG-99. If there are any glaring issues with the current guide feel free to let me know.

https://boards.dingoonity.org/retrominirs-90/a-quick-guide-to-flashing-opendingux-on-the-rs-90-using-windows-10-x64/msg186557/#msg186557

I am easier to reach on discord if you need to PM me on the matter.

Edit: Per pcercuei's suggestions I have trimmed the guide considerably. It should also be a viable source of instructions to flash most OD Beta capable devices.

Is the RG99 performance better now? Was way below RS90 last time I tried.

Identical SoC, but less of the apps work. Something to do with the different resolution and IPU. Not sure why, but scaling issues seem to keep the software not configured for both directly from working. So, things like PCE, and MD work roughly the same as they have been compiled to work on both, but NES and Retroarch last I checked didn't work at all on the RG99. As for any performance hit because of the higher resolution? I'm not sure.

With the first firmware, Marioland2 DX was too slow to be playable (work perfectly ok on RS90).

RA works fine, even compiled the scummvm core for it which runs fine while the standalone doesn't at 240x160

Edit : you meant rg99, not sure if the rs90 port isn't specific 240x160. You'd probably have better luck compiling a regular gcw0 port, with the rs-90 toolchain.

And btw, I ported scummvm to it : https://github.com/citral23/scummvm-odbeta/releases/tag/RC1 next iteration will be slightly refined so it runs the most demanding 8bpp game, discworld, ok at max OC

Yes, RG99, as I'm always looking for the ideal disposable $20 GB/GBC/GBA player to go. Shantae was absolutely unplayable with the first cfw on the RG99, and Marioland2 DX just barely playable, even though both run fine on the RS90.

Yea, you're talking about the one off OD that Steward did. Currently runs more systems on the RG99 than Beta OD, but runs them very poorly. Kind of like stock. So, quality vs quantity at this point. With any luck, once ports get more sorted on the RG99 it will be 100% better across the board. Even with less systems, I would typically consider the best of the available options for OS choices.

Sounds like I should give the RG99 a second shot then. Thanks.

//Looks like they are trying that "it's the RG300" scam again, as the cheapest RG99s on aliexpress are now more than $40, and for that price, thanks but no thanks.

Don't buy one for more than 30$ tbh, it's a shitty device

$25 shipping included I'd say, for that price, it could be decent with a firmware that plays GB/GBC/GBA at full speed.

The emulators that gameblabla includes are quite functional, I as v47 says, I'm satisfied with gb, gbcolor and gba. At least this Open Dingux Beta goes better than the previous custom firmware.

Want to confirm that I read it correctly, and PAP KIII plus is working OK?

Just trying to get a sense of firmware it arrives tomorrow. If OD and RetroFW both work well, it's a matter of which is faster lol.

Hello,

Can you try these GBA roms please?

-Medal on Honor Infiltrator (USA/EU)
-Lego Drome Racers

For me, Medal of honor crash when i begin the first mission for example.

No problem with the game on real hardware with an everdrive, or in othe image.

Thank you.

I just ran the gcw0-update-2021-12-12 opk on my GCW Zero and it updated fine but when I went to put my app and home files back I can no longer connect to my Zero using Filezilla, connecting on 10.1.1.2:21, has USB connection changed in the new release?

UPDATE: I discovered the USB type had to be changed from mass storage to ethernet so now I have 10.1.1.2 showing up but still no FTP and the mass storage also doesn't work.

Medal honor has always been crashing on ReGBA, it's an emulator issue (outdated) not an OS issue. You may or may not have better luck with retroarch.
