Any PS1/PSP emulator for it out?

Hi Manofaction89.

For PS1 you've PCSXAll, and recently the friend steward has released a fix (awesome work, many thx  ;D).

https://github.com/steward-fu/gh_retrogame_binary/blob/master/PCSX4ALL/int_sd/emus/pcsx4all/pcsx4all

It's a great improvement.

Castlevania SOTN I guess runs nearly fast as original and Wipeout XL perhaps only rest 10-15 fps to work as original one. (I said guess because isn't show the fps counter even after it's activation by menu).

Hi,
Finally, it can write framebuffer into DMA directly for RetroGame.
This method is adopted from GP2X Wiz (notaz used long time ago)
The speed is good for pcsx4all emulator on RetroGame device now.
Kindly help to test it.

pcsx4all for testing:
https://github.com/steward-fu/gh_retrogame_binary/blob/master/PCSX4ALL/int_sd/emus/pcsx4all/pcsx4all

I should optimize all of emulator by using DMA method to speed up, soon.

That's a big improvement, thanks Steward!

Just tested Ray Tracers, was 30-45 fps previously and now it's 51-60fps and running well.
Handhelds:
GPD Win, GPD XD 64gb, Pap KIII-Plus, RS-97, RS-90, New Bittboy, 3DS XL, DSi XL, GBA SP, GBBC Clone, Gameboy Pocket, PSP Go,
PC:
HP Envy M6, Acer 522, Dell Mini 9
Psion 5 & 5MX
Tons of other old laptops and tablets.....

Great improvement, thanks a lot Steward!!! Gran Turismo is now playable. A little lag in menu but in racing the fps is 30+. Amazing :D

Hi, thank you Steward for your great work.

I've some little questions.

1. With the speed improvements offered by using DMA method, would it be doable to add an option for a scanline effect.
I guess it could look pretty well on a 320x480 screen. It should be doable at no cost by adding a black or grey line every other line but it will look way better by doubling each line and after slighly darkening every other line (10 or 25 % darker).

Maybe adding a png mask with alpha blending could do the trick and being less cpu intensive ?

2. Will hardware scaling through ipu be available at some time or is there any limitation of the current kernel currently ?
I don't like software scaling in general and ipu could also give a nice speed up for most software (but not for anything that already render at a resolution close to 320x240 like neogeo....

Thanks for your interest.

Steward you are the man! Just want to say thank you!

Is there any chance that this fix will be applied to FBA? Or perhaps that a working version of Mame4all will be released?

Delete the extension from the file PocketSNES.elf so it becomes just PocketSNES and it should work ok. Running fine on my RS-97.

pocketsnes has a very poor fps ... don't think it will change a lot even with DMA support ...
Maybe with snes9X4D it will be better ?

UPDATE: tried pocketsnes DMA Inside seems faster for sure.
tried reGBA, no gain of fps,
tries picodrive, no gain of fps.

Seeing the improvment with PocketSNES, I 'm waiting for Snes9X4D ;)

I've been testing reGba and PocketSNES and noticed some flicker on menu screens for both emulators. Compared with previous versions I didn't notice any FPS improvement. Golden Sun and Mario Kart on GBA and Street Fighter II Turbo and Super Mario World on SNES have same frame drops on older and new DMA versions.

Either these emulators bottleneck isn't when drawing the screen, or maybe you missed some step when implementing the direct DMA writing.

Anyway, thank you very much to both you and Steward for doing this impressive work on RS97.

the flickering can be fixed by completely deleting the reGBA folder and inserting the new version
