Currently testing dcastaway Atari st emulator and REminiscence v1.0 if anyone wants to join in testing join in here you have to use explorer to start the apps wont launch from gmenu2x at the moment.

https://github.com/steward-fu/gh_retrogame_binary

So I tried a modified single disc version of Xenon2 with dcastaway and the title screen ran at a very low framerate with crackly sound, however once the main game menu came up, the game itself ran very well, pretty much as I remembered it. Was great to play a version of Xenon 2 with the full soundtrack and not slowed down like the Genesis version!

I also have the original discs of Atari ST Xenon2, so tried that, and the first loaded up fine but I don't know how to get the second disc to load, can anyone help? Without this, there's a bunch of other games that I'm going to struggle to play as I don't have copies modded into one disc.
My Portable Devices: Game Gear, PSP 3000, Nvidia Shield Portable, GPD Win, Coolboy RS-97, PAP KIII Plus, GCW Zero

how to load dos games on the new update

before i would be able to open dosbox select the exe and have load

now just show the dos prompt and i type in dir and it does not show any folders that are on the sd card just a bunch of files and folders used by dosbox so i tried to change the drive but there is only one drive that is already mounted

how do i load dos games plz help thanks

Likewise I'm struggling to find out how to load the games. I'm wondering what version of Dosbox Steward has used, as I noticed that there's a version by Slaanesh for OpenDingux that includes DOSNav, a freeware file launcher. The PSP version of DOSbox also has an included DOS file launcher that I copied across thinking that might help on the RS-97, but can't even launch that as I can't map the directory.

Here's where the OpenDingux Dosbox I found is:

I have reported on dcastaway running fine just intro sounds are messed up but i game music and game runs fine probably uses a different sound engine for intro music sure Steward will sort it out. Handy still has bad sound but the emulator runs fine. Reminiscence runs flawlessly sound perfect fps perfect graphics perfect well done Steward for this one i requested one of my all time fave games.

I had issues with Rondo of Blood (Translated) with static or no music.  I swapped for a Bin/Cue format and it works perfectly now.  Give that a shot if you can for SonicCD

Is this the German version with subtitles in English?  or is this the full on 100% translation?  If it's the complete one, please PM me too!  Thanks a lot!

Great idea Jutley!  If you are testing emulators, please report your findings here: https://boards.dingoonity.org/ingenic-jz4760-devices/rs-97-custom-firmware-v1-2-emulator-guide-(stable-unstable-not-working)/

We are trying to get a solid list together with detailed info on the emulators for us, the public, and Steward.

Currently we have no information on dosbox and how that is running.

Are you planning to send Steward pull requests for your fixes? I know several people have worked on fixes but I don't see any pull requests on the repository.

Thanks for the effort on this!  i posted this in the other topic, but I just fired up the new pocketsnes update.  Tried 3 popular games:
Kirby 3 - extreme lag and not playable
Contra - lag and framerate problems
donkey kong country 2 - lag

I can test more, but is there something I'm doing wrong or need to change settings.  This is just running them out of the box.

I will test those out later myself and see if the same thing happens. In the mean time here are a few things you should try. disable stereo. the rs-97 has one speaker, mono is all you're getting anyways. reduce sound quality to 22,050 (or whatever it is in the options). lowering sound quality for mono does not hurt but helps frame rate. set frame skip to 60/1 or auto depending on the game. for lighter games 60/1 worked fine, for heavier games auto was better. Hope this helps.

Hopefully it's not like fba were it seems to work for some and not others. Pocketsnes works like a dream for me now but fba works terrible still.

Edit: kirby 3 runs terrible confirmed. Donkey kong country 3 and contra ran fine with the recommended settings above.

I tried your recommendations with F-Zero and it chugs along at about 15fps.
