I tired on my old 2.1 RS97 and got a white booting screen...

I think you need a custom kernel for the old 2.1 unit to use pymenu.. but its not available yet.

Pymenu wont work with custom kernels so use stock kernels for your device.

Hey Jutley,

Will this be compatible with the NERDS "Double Buffer" custom kernel on the RS-97 v2.0 ?  (Just checking)
Dingoo x2, GCW0, RS-97 x2, Revo-K101, RS-90, PSP, PSP Go, GameGadget, New 3DS 128GB, PS Vita 200GB RS-45, Gamebox Advance and a few other obscure devices

Thanks for doing this jutley.  I installed it, and I'm enjoying the experience.  Is there a tutorial or FAQ for how to modify the main menu?  I'm not trying to add anything at the moment, I'd really just like to remove the ZX and C64 since I don't plan on using them.  Thanks!

Press select and remove entry job done ;)

I did it, and it works, the emulator disappear, but when I turn off and on the console the emulators I deleted from the menu are still there... any ideas to fix this?

Thank you! didn't find that exact folder, it was in apps/PyMenu/config/pixel, and it worked ;-)

I just got around to installing this on my RS-07 Arcade Mini and trying it out.  Thanks so much for adding the extra emulators, that's awesome.  I noticed two problems and I was wondering if they were particular to me, or if anyone else was experiencing them.

1) GB and GBC roms don't appear to load correctly.  Everyone I try gives me a black screen for about 5 seconds, and then kicks me out to the file select menu.  GBA works fine.
2) With the original PyMenu FW, the volume control worked smoothly like the original CFW.  With 1.5, it appears to have gone back to the stock firmware behavior, where the only way to get a manageable volume is to move it millimeters at a time.

Would a reinstall fix either of these issues, or does everyone else have the same problems?  Thanks!

Dear Ace9094, did you succed in creating a pack with all correct buttons configs? I have the same issue, which is extended to other games (not just SFII) so it would be very useful...

Thanks ;-)

For anyone having issues with the A&B buttons being reversed in FBA you can remap game controls.

Press the Start & Select during game play to access the FBA Key Config menu, HOWEVER due to the A & B buttons being swapped around in the PyMenu (not sure why) its a little confusing to get the key config correct, just remember that A & B are reversed

For Street Fighter II I've mapped the following Config:

Fire 1 = X Medium Punch
Fire 2 = Y Light Punch
Fire 3 = L Heavy Punch
Fire 4 = B Medium Kick
Fire 5 = A Light Kick
Fire 6 = R Heavy Kick

This will make the layout for Street Fighter II on the RS-07 control panel the same as below:

Y     X     L
LP - MP - HP

A     B     R
LK - MK - HK

FBA will create a Config file, you should be able to copy that file to a PC and rename it the same as other Street Fighter II roms, then place it back in the FBA config folder to save having to map every game.

The ROM that I configured was SF2m7.zip NOte not all SFII games will have the same config some may be trial and error. I will gradually build up a pack of config files for FBA that can be copied to the .fba/configs folder

Dear Jutley,

when you write: "PyMenu should now work with the updated kernel.
open config/config.json and set "RS97ScreenFix" to true.
PyMenu is using the kernel function to stretch the image to 320x480 to make it fullscreen."
does this option affect also image stretch on RS07? Is this useful to play games on full screen?

Thank you!

PS: how do I edit the config file (I see I can view it with the Commander App). Thanks!

Pymenu for RS97 v1.6 firmware

Pymenu RS-97 v1.6 to install just flash to a blank sd card like normal then expand the fat32 partition. This is based for (v1.0 v2.0 v1.0s old screen devices) so if you want to use on other rs-97 hardware please use the (universal patcher) and patch it to use on your device. A big thanks to jack83 for his Pymenu  hope you enjoy this release.
PyMenu should now work with the updated kernel.
open config/config.json and set "RS97ScreenFix" to true.
PyMenu is using the kernel function to stretch the image to 320x480 to make it fullscreen. The new kernel is (presumably) missing this function right now. Using RS97ScreenFix, the stretching is done in code and is a little slower. The new kernel will get the stretching in the future.
