Pymenu_v1.6 for RS07- RS97 devices

Pymenu for RS97 v1.6 firmware

Pymenu RS-97 v1.6 to install just flash to a blank sd card like normal then expand the fat32 partition. This is based for (v1.0 v2.0 v1.0s old screen devices) so if you want to use on other rs-97 hardware please use the (universal patcher) and patch it to use on your device. A big thanks to jack83 for his Pymenu  hope you enjoy this release.
PyMenu should now work with the updated kernel.
open config/config.json and set "RS97ScreenFix" to true.
PyMenu is using the kernel function to stretch the image to 320x480 to make it fullscreen. The new kernel is (presumably) missing this function right now. Using RS97ScreenFix, the stretching is done in code and is a little slower. The new kernel will get the stretching in the future.

Thanks for doing this jutley.  I installed it, and I'm enjoying the experience.  Is there a tutorial or FAQ for how to modify the main menu?  I'm not trying to add anything at the moment, I'd really just like to remove the ZX and C64 since I don't plan on using them.  Thanks!

hi, if you release another version, could you add some missing emulator? (like picodrive, even if they are half_broken, not optimised..)

will try your version soon, the pymenu look good!

I think (but dont quote me) that Gameblabla needs to update his image before Jutley can create the image using Jacks PyMenu...

Is there any way to get the GUI for FBA working or would Gameblabla need to release another version ?I like to hide clones ;)

Just flashed to RS-07 internal SD card, however I do not get PyMenu... If I then navigate to PyMenu folder and launch the .SH file it reboots to main menu.

Any ideas?

Thanks
ace

EDIT: Tried every emulator and they all reboot back to menu when selecting a rom

Thanks for the reply, however none of the emulators boot / run when selecting a ROM from the list of games, it just returns to the custom menu. The PyMenu does not boot at all, even when launching the .sh file manually.

To be honest, I probably should of tested everything BEFORE expanding the partition and copying the files to the SD Card  :-[ :-X ;D

Would it be possible to run this pixel theme on the RS97?

I tested the rs07 versions before release and its on my device works fine the rs97 is the same i would reflash again and test it before you copy anything. Also yes i plan to do a pixel them for both in v1.1. But please report bugs here so they can be fixed on the next release thanks and enjoy.

For anyone having issues with the A&B buttons being reversed in FBA you can remap game controls.

Press the Start & Select during game play to access the FBA Key Config menu, HOWEVER due to the A & B buttons being swapped around in the PyMenu (not sure why) its a little confusing to get the key config correct, just remember that A & B are reversed

For Street Fighter II I've mapped the following Config:

Fire 1 = X Medium Punch
Fire 2 = Y Light Punch
Fire 3 = L Heavy Punch
Fire 4 = B Medium Kick
Fire 5 = A Light Kick
Fire 6 = R Heavy Kick

This will make the layout for Street Fighter II on the RS-07 control panel the same as below:

Y     X     L
LP - MP - HP

A     B     R
LK - MK - HK

FBA will create a Config file, you should be able to copy that file to a PC and rename it the same as other Street Fighter II roms, then place it back in the FBA config folder to save having to map every game.

The ROM that I configured was SF2m7.zip NOte not all SFII games will have the same config some may be trial and error. I will gradually build up a pack of config files for FBA that can be copied to the .fba/configs folder

Hey Jutley, great work on the image file... Thank you ;)

Quick question, in my ROMS folder I create a folder called "Favorites" and put 20+ of my favorite games for each system.
Which file should I edit to show this path for each emulator?

Thanks
