Regarding the emulation performance:  snes seem to dip to 40fps on some games. Gba games have drops to 50fps and have distorted sound. Shame.

Are these the default emus or community ones?

On the community Snes emulator it can get down to 32-33fps on some games with transparency on, Dracula X for example. GBA can be hit and miss, some games are pretty steady with the odd drop (Darius R) and some are all over the place like Gunstar Super Heroes which dips down to 40 and shoots up to 70+ even with frame limit on for some bizarre reason. It's a bit like the early days of the A320 really, still one of the better options for the price.

Considering the cpu is a basic 528mhz piece (far less efficient that early arm soc's) and no hardware usage of gpu (not active in this firmware I think). it does a good job

I mainly bought it for SMS and GB/GBC which run very well on it, the main reason I didn't like the original SMS emulator is because you have to choose between full screen stretched or 1:1 in a tiny window, the new one has a scaled option with the original aspect ratio.

Is there a version of Doom that runs with music? I'm using CZ Doom at the moment which runs great but there's no music, only SFX.

Unnamed Monkey Game and SuperTux working fine btw:
http://www.pouet.net/prod.php?which=58300

SuperTux seems to crash on me when configuring controls but it works out of the box using A and D.

Cave Story also seems to be working fine:
Original game (needed for datafiles) - http://www.cavestory.org/download/cave-story.php
Dingux Port - http://dl.openhandhelds.org/cgi-bin/dingoo.cgi?0,0,0,0,35,474
Original thread - https://boards.dingoonity.org/dingux-releases/nxengine-(cave-story)-beta-1-2821/

Instructions copied from Zear's original thread:
1) Extract the contents of NXEngine onto your SD card.
2) Copy the "Doukutsu.exe" and "data" dir from the original datafiles into the newly extracted "nxengine" dir
3) Run nx.dge executable
4) Wait a moment. The black screen on the first run is normal
5) Huzzah!

You can remove "Doukutsu.exe" file after the first successful run.

CZDoom is prboom isn't it? I couldn't find Chocolate Doom for Dingux, only for uCOS-II.

Nah not really one for doing videos tbh, it's basically like having a bigger Dingooo though. Currently got CZDoom, UMG, Supertux, OpenTyrian, Cave Story, Giana's Return and Sqrxz4 on it all working fine, can't really remember what games I used to have on the old A320 really.

Given that it's pretty cheap feeling, the dpad is 3 piece and performance isn't exactly consistent it's a really fun device, I can think of worse ways to spend ?32.

Are you using the hacked menu or native menu? be nice a quick guide on how to add the files structure if you want to add a game or app.

I'm using the hacked in dmenu from the community here. You don't have to edit the theme file every time you put a new game on there and it's not desktop/icon based like on the the A320, although I suppose you could do individual entries for each game if you wanted.

It looks like the uCOS-II or PSP menu in that you cycle horizontally through different categories (Game, Music, Video, System etc.) select them with A and then use up and down to make a selection within each category. Basically pressing A at the "Game" section leads to three choices - the old emulators, the new (alternative) emulators and a "Games" section. The Games one leads to your "GAME" folder where you have placed the folders of your Dingux games. I just navigate to the relevant folder and click on the .dge file to launch them.

That's a .sim file for the native A320 uCOS-II, they need to be for Dingux - usually .dge files.

Can this device run the custom firmware and all the emus of the Dingoo A380 without any problems at full speed? Alien Grey and few others supported the A380 really well

http://boards.dingoonity.org/dingoo-technology-a380/firmware-v2-0016-with-neo-geo-zip-support/

I want a solid cheap device to replace my old A380. This looks decent although not as well built as the the A380.

The PapK3 Plus will not run the above custom firmware.  However the core of its own firmware is opendingux compatible which will mean that the majority of the opendingux apps and games will run on it.

There may be an issue with the utilisation of the GPU in the PapK3Plus (stretching to fit the screen does cause some performance issues I think)  However if you leave it unscaled at 320x240 in the middle it should run reasonably faster (a380 has 4755 cpu and papk3plus has a slightly faster cpu (4760)

Tested the gold high capacity BP-4L battery (3030mah supposedly) which arrived a couple of days ago and after 1hr20mins gaming it had only just dropped a bar on the battery meter so it's looking like 4-5hrs play time is realistic. If the battery meter is wrong and it's a crap battery I'll edit the post later but looks much better than the stock battery so far. I got it from DealExtreme. You can get it from all the usual places like AliExpress, FastTech, eBay etc:

Also tested Syobon, it works but looks like trash. I seem to remember it looked bad on the A320 though as it was a quick port:

Do you know of a battery similar spec for the retromini and retrogame devices as they take the same battery.

I got this 1390mah BL-5B for the RS-97 RetroGame:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1Pc-Li-Ion-BL-5B-3-7V-1390mAh-Battery-For-Nokia-N90-3230-5300-5070-6121-6080/263155110609?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2060353.m2749.l2649

And this 2450mah BL-5C for the RS-90 RetroMini:
https://www.aliexpress.com/item/BL-5C-BL5C-BL-5C-Cell-Phone-Battery-Batteries-For-Nokia-1100-1200-1650-2600-3100/1000004814939.html?spm=a2g0s.9042311.0.0.XdsYuF

They haven't arrived yet so I don't know how they perform, will update when I've used them for a bit. Seeing as the RS-97 has the smallest battery with the lowest capacity out of all three consoles it lasts a decent amount of time, maybe the stock battery is better or more likely the screen uses less power than the K3P. I usually need 4hrs gaming time so anything above that is a bonus.
