In the last update, I got the following error with gmenu2x:

- The menu always starts asking for connection with tvout;

Anyone getting this?

Also, would be great to can map keys ourself. I see that have an input.conf to that, but no docs to it, no possible to map to volume, etc.

Finally, thanks for those who made possible pcsx4all work so well. I'm crying in happy  ;D

hello all Im laying out my pap 4gb and new 16 gb today to start my menu mod. I will first try to port my menu for the 4 over to the 16 and then try to make a external card version. but one of the most common questions I get on my YouTube channel is about the 16gb usb connection. I have explained that for some reason they have disabled the data transfer over usb and made it a charge port only. I have yet to dig into this issue but that's on the block also. Any ideas from the community on this?

If I'm not mistaken there was a quote from the manufacturers about how windows would try to "fix" format the partitions which it wasnt supposed to touch therefore bricking the device if you connected via USB, hence disabled USB

I'm not buying it, the old 4gb did just fine. if it asked to format you simply said no and it would ignore the linux partitions and you could read the fat32  where the roms were stored. They might have thought they simplified the device by taking away the function from un-savy users

Got it! LBL Menu running on the 16gb version, came down to just splicing in what I had too to get the desired look and additional emulators. Still no video or usb  :'( but I hope to correct that. Also any one know of ways I can share a link? Drop box and google free is maxed out. Frost wire shows people that its a virus....any Ideas? https://youtu.be/eTBq976hV8Y

Someone developing, noticed that joystick is currently being mapped as d-pad, so there is no real joystick module working?  :(

It's not a real analog joystick, it's mapped as a dpad. (digital only)
RS-97 Plus's joystick is also a similar implementation (if not the same).

So... it is mapped in software level? A new kernel could map it as real joystick?

Not software level, hardware level. i don't believe there's even a way of knowing if joystick or DPAD is pressed.

I've just bought a PAP KIII Plus from Aliexpress so I'm a complete noob here, and I want to install MAME on it to be able to play other arcade games that are not present in those CPS/Neo-Geo packs that comes with it.

Where could I download a compatible MAME emulator and how do I install it in my PAP K3 Plus?

It seems that the more recent MAME version compatible with this device is 0.78, is this correct? The roms for this emulator I already have, I just need the MAME installation package and some tips on how to install it and where to put the roms.

Thanks!!
Roger

No such thing : i've only ported FBA to it and i updated it so it is fullscreen. Since the binary was also compatible with the PAP K3 Plus, it also works there.

I'm waiting on slaneesh for the MAME port because MAME is a slow, sluggish mess but he loves to take his time...

Nickz Custom dMenu for PAP-KIII Plus

I made a custom menu to address some issues that I had with the menus made by Jack83 and Level by Level Gaming. This was a project just for my own use, but I thought others here and elsewhere might want to take it for a spin. I think it looks good and works well, but I've never dabbled in anything like this before so I am pretty much at the limit of what I can accomplish.

Everything that works was built on the shoulders of what Jack and LBL did before me, so very much credit goes to the two of them.

MAME and PlayStation do not work. Anybody know how to get them working?

If there is any interest, I may upload another video showing the complete functioning of all of the emulators and menu items.

Here is the readme info:

EASY INSTALLATION
-----------------
1. Download .ZIP file here: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1gI3RiT-iYPDwx4_lTSZnyTEn2CrA5zgH

2. Copy complete contents of .ZIP file to a blank microSD card.

3. Load up the microSD with roms, music, and pictures into the corresponding folders.

4. Insert microSD card into "TF card" slot on device.

5. Power on device.

6. Open file browser and navigate to "mnt/mmc/dmenu/installer" or "sd_card/dmenu/installer" or similar (depending on your file browser).

7. Execute "install.dge" file.

8. Device will reboot with new menu.

9. Enjoy!

NOTES:
------
- NO ROMS OR BIOS FILES ARE INCLUDED.
- Brightness permanently set to 18%.
- Default volume set to 45%.
- No TV-out or USB file transfer functionality.
- PlayStation and MAME are non-functional (please fix them if you can!)
- In some emulators, using the volume buttons will also change the game speed (this is easily solved by picking a volume that plays the game at the correct speed).
