Decide to improve what little work i did a few months ago and made a CFW for it.
I have to warn you though : the current release is somewhat incomplete/garbage.
Description
This is a CFW for the PAP KIIIS aiming at improving the quality and speed of emulation, provide more content/games,
as well as make it a bit more convenient to use.
Here's what does work though :
Emulators: SMS Plus GX (Master System/Game Gear/SG-1000/Colecovision), PokeMini, PCSX4ALL, Gnuboy, GPSP.
Games : Quake, Quake 2, Chocolate Doom/Heretic/Strife, Divi-Dead (Hexen doesn't work)
Apps : Mplayer (has some issues)
Setting Brightness, volume... works.
TV Out works.
Camera is not supported right now. (Do we really want it ?)
Known issues :
- USB UDC refuses to work properly. Not sure what's going on...

Installation
Firmware is external only
if you had used the external loader before, you can either flash rootfs_external.img to partition 1 (leaving the 8MB of space before) or reflash it with the stock firmware and follow the instructions below.
You'll need :
- A computer with an sd card writer. (You could do this on a phone with an external sd card slot but its not ideal)
- Some patience and fully charged PAP K3S.
# Step 1 (Installation of the external firmware)
First you need to install the external firmware loader and flash it on your device !
To do so, you must format an SD card to FAT32 and put the content of the zip extracted to your sd card.
Insert your sd card to the external sd slot and power on your console.
Then, use the file explorer in the stock os and run the "flash.sh" file.
Make sure that your PAP K3S's battery is charged enough and plugged to a wall socket !
Wait for around 10 minutes or so maximum .
Once that's done, it should power itself off. If not then, then reset it.
(either by pressing the reset button or removing the battery)
It should then boot up to the external sd card, with GmenuNx goodness and all.

Been off of dingoonity a while but glad to see your still working on this device. Keep up the good work.

Thanks for your hard work, I had a lot of time with the PAP-KIIIS stored in a drawer and it made me very happy to know that you were working to improve the original firmware.
I have tested the image on the internal SD of my KIIIS but it always starts with the black screen. I imagine it will be a problem with the AUPTRONIC screen driver.
Also I have added the / lib / modules folder of the stock firmware in the system partition, but it still does not work. I guess the kernel versions will also be different.
I think it has different hardware and I would like to show you the motherboard along with the original firmware:
OFW_PAP_K3S_1.0 (https://millfsu-my.sharepoint.com/:u:/g/personal/m10287_winoffice365_com/ETM8v1Z2LOhFsa3xMn2kSX0BejSaJWmnhn_wTIBf_xZwlQ?e=hTisJI/)
Thanks for the help.

You don't have a PAP K3S JZ4760B so it should still have worked still...
Maybe it uses a different LCD screen ?
I'll look at the firmware image you gave to me later. Thanks

Awesome, I recently moved so my K3S unit is boxed up somewhere but looking forward to testing your new CFW.

Looking forward to your new system

Just saying but i have released a new update for the PAP K3S.
Here are the changes :
- The firmware as a whole is now external only.
- Updated SMS Plus GX to the latest changes with some minor performance changes.
- Added Gnuboy, Divi-Dead ports.
- Fixed Tv Out.
And some other minor changes.
Get the new firmware in the first post above.
Sorry for taking a while but i felt like it had to be done.
Unfortunately performance isn't the best but oh well.
At least it's easy to install stuff on it now with the external slot (and you only need one FAT32 partition on the whole thing. It also uses swapfiles for swapping)

Download file is missing, i only wanted to take Divi-Dead from the image so i can play it on my RS-07 and PAP K3 Plus.

Why no one else told me? lmao
It's back up again. really strange

PAP K3S binaries are not compatible with the PAP K3 Plus and RS-07.
This is because it uses a higher internal resolution (800x480) rather than the RS-07/K3 Plus.
I'll submit an RS-07 version in the future but not right now.
-
Ok thanks, I wait for an RS-07 version of Divi-Dead ;)

So hang on...what do I do if I dumped the original sd card with the stock os and had your previous release (internal) on a Sandisk? Seems I need the stock os...anyone got it (never thought I'd be asking for that!).

I thought you had a PAP K3 Plus, not a PAP K3S ?
If you are on linux, you can also take the external loader and flash it like so :
sudo dd if=rootfs_external.img of=/dev/sdc1.
Then it will turn it into an external loader. Put all of the rest of the files on a FAT32 formatted sd card and put it in your PAP K3S's external sd card slot.

Forgot to say I finally got one last month here:

Thanks I'll do what you said.

Made a minor update to my CFW. I had forgotten to add my GPSP port (GBA emulator) so this is now done.
I would like to hear your feedback of course... So far it seems that only myself seriously gave it a try.
-
i would like to see a uae4all version for the cfw, because the uae4all works only on the stock fw

I think you are confusing it with the PAP K3 Plus. The PAP K3S is different and not directly compatible with it.
There was a never an Amiga emulator for the K3S either...
As for UAE4ALL, i could port it but who is using a K3S seriously here ?

i am using this device, so do it
Now first of all you say, "hello" then you end with "please" then eventually i may do it...
Also, the K3S is pretty low priority unfortunately. I do plan on porting Picodrive to it.
